boiling it down into syrup to be used at their pancake breakfast on May 20. Here
Eric Earl, Randy McClinchey, and Phil Gemeinhardt gathered sap last
Monday. (photo by Milvena Erickson)

SURPRISE YOURSELF!
In most cases, filling out your own
income tax return is easier than
you may think.
It's largely a matter of simple
arithmetic. You don't have to pay
someone to do something you
can do yourself.
Just follow the six basic'sieps in
:the Guide you received with your
income tax return. Don't forget to
attach all the proper receipts, and
double check your return before
mailing it.
It's that easy. So go ahead.
Surprise yourself.

The maple trees in Clan
Gregor Square are being
very kind to the Lions
Club by yielding a goodly
amount of sap with a
reportedly heavier sugar
content than any sugar
bush in the area. Already
22 gallons of maple syrup
has been realized, but the
Lions are striving for
double\ that amount to
feed the hungry at their
annual Pancake Break-
fast scheduled for Sun-
day, May 20.
Lion Eric Earl said that
this past Monday was a
poor day for sap. "What
we need are frosty nights
and sunny days to make
the sap run," he said.
Proceeds from the River
Break-up contest and the
Pancake Breakfast will
go to the arena fund.
Another Arena Fund-
raising project is a draw
on a roto -tiller, donated
by Lions president John
