and the 16th
By Milena Lobb
With the beautiful
sunny days we have been
having one would think
that winter is over and
spring is just around the
corner, sure hope so. •
The end .of hockey,
curling, and skating is in
sight . and the
snowmobiles and skis
have likely been put away
already. Quite a few from
this area usually go north
for a weekend of
owmobiling but this
ar they left It a little too
ate and the weatherman
fooled them. Instead of
snow forthe weekend
away in the Owen Sound
area they had thun-
derstorms. A little bit of
snowmobiling was done
but it was not what was
hoped for; a good time
was had by all anyway.
Doug and Gertrude
Feagan headed south for
their usual winter holiday
with Cuba as •their
destination. It sounds as
if they had a good time,
enjoyed the sights, food
and hospitality.
The Brian Mustard
emily have been away to
e sunny south in
Florida and Linda cer-
tainly has proof that the
weather was sunny, and
warm.
It is nice to be able to
report that all our
hospital patients, Don
Watson, Norene Tebbutt,
and Sylvia Forbes are
home and doing fine.
Sixteen merfibers and
three visitors were
present at the SS 4
Community Club March
meeting held at the home
of Connie Van Loo.
President Marlene
Forbes opened the
meeting with the Creed
and Prayer. Roll call was
answered with_our
favourite TV progrm.
Secretary, Roba Lobb
read the February
minutes and Linda Jones,
treasurer, read her
report. It was decided to
hold the annual Com-
munity Supper on April 12
and more planning will
be done at the April
meeting.
Marlene Forbes will
' host the April meeting on
April 4. The afternoon
will be spent working on a
quilt so don't forget your
thimbles. Linda Jones
and Madeline Bartlett
who hlad taken the
needlecraft course then
conducted the first of four
meetings on needlepoint.
A very successful bake
sale was held with Phyllis
Thompson doing her
usual ' excellent job of
auctioneering. Jessie
Jones and Linda Jones
served a delicious lunch.
