Nursery school visits farm
'Last Wednesday
morning, February 28,
the Tuckersmith Day
Nursery visited Mr. and
Mrs. Bob Lawson's farm.
Twenty-seven children
and their teachers
walked to the farm in the
sunshine.
The children were
delighted to see the new
lambs and to help feed
some of them goats' 'milk
with baby bottles. Mrs.
Lawson showed us a
black lamb, two sets of
triplets and • a set of
quadruplets. Many of the
children had never seen
baby pigs before and they
were very interested in
them. We also petted
goats, cats and kittens
and the family dog.
The children would like
to thank Mr. and Mrs.
Lawson for letting us
come to visit; being so
patient in answering all
of our questions; and for
helping us up and down
the stairs and over the
fences. We would also
like to thank Carol Dixon
for her help. We look
forward to taking more
trips like this.
Cubs plan racing meet
guns

March 5th proved to be a
busy one. Mr. Paul
Mellor came out to show
our boys some new knots.
We attempted 'the sheet
bend, and reviewed the
reef knot and the bowline.
Parents are asked to help
the boys with these knots
at home.
Next week the boys will
be racing their Kub Kars
and if we have enough
time we will do a craft.

Helpful Hints
Place a portable
sewing machine on a
piece of foam rubber,
about an inch and a half
thick and two inches
wider than the machine
base. The pad will
prevent the machine
from "walking", absorbs
vibration, and makes a
good pin cushion.
When making infante
clothes that are buttoned
to the hemline, attach an
extra button. under the
hem for use when the
garment is lengthened.
A small magnet kept in
your sewing box will be
useful for picking up pins
that fall on the floor, and
for picking up stray pins
in the bottom of the box.
Store spools of thread
in an egg carton.
