Fortunately, it isn't ne- cessary to go to exotic places or spend a great deal of money to have a wonder- ful honeymopn — these Un- ited States offer a mar- velous diversity of vacation spots that are perfect for honeymooners. The South has beaches, ante-bellum towns and so- phisticated cities to choose from. If the seashore ap- peals to you, the, Gulf area around Ft. Meyers, Flori- da, offers sunny beaches. Other popular beach areas in the South are Pass Chris- tian, Mississippi, and Geor- Honeymoon Packing ..Tips: Whether you are headed for an exotic honeymoon paradise, or for a weekend in a cozy, country cottage, a few packing reminders al- ways, come ,in handy. Heavier articles such as shoes should be packed against the bottom end of your suitcase so when the porter clunks your bags down hard (and he will!) the heavies won't slide down and crush all in their path. Don't he left at the gate— have your pasrports prepared If you and your fiance are planning a honey- moon abroad, you will need to do some extra planning and pre -nuptial appointment -making to be sure that you don't spend your first hours of bliss trapped in a customs office for insufficient docu- mentation! You should apply for your passports at least two months before your departure, in order to al- low extra time for proc- essing. • Because the bride is not, legally a "Mrs." until the wedding, you will more than likely be traveling with separate passports, hers under her maiden name, and you will need to carry with you your certified marriage license. When you return from your trip your passports may be revised to show your marital status. To apply for a passport, you need either a birth certificate, naturalization certificate, or a former passport. You will also need another proof of identification carrying your photograph or des- cription and signature (a driver's license; for ex- ample) . The passport office re- quires two additional pho- tos of you taken within the last 6 months, 2" by 3", on' a plain light back- ground (snapshots or pho- tos taken in coin-operated photo booths will not do — best have professional passport pictures made) . ,Your passport will take two to three weeks to process, and is good for five years.
