stage at Blyth Memorial
Hall is "The Four
Poster" scheduled for
Wednesday evening,
March 7 at Qpm.
This three -act comdey
by Jan, de Hartog comes
to Blyth after a very
s-uccessful three -night
run in God,1erich at
Mackay Hall. Produced
by the Goderich Little
Theatre, and directed by
Eleanor Robinson, the
play spans a 25 -year
period in the lives of
Agnes and Michael and
looks at various events
that make up the course
of their marriage.
Members of the audience
will enjoy identifying
with and relating to the
activities as portrayed in
the different scenes.
A star performer of the
Goderich Little Theatre.
and well-known to
residents of Huron
County, Virginia Lodge
appears as Agnes. Her
wide experience in the
dramatic field enables
her to give an excellent
and sensitive portrayal of
her role.
Warren Robinson, who
has written, produced
and directed many
successful award winning
plays for Goderich
District Collegiate
Institute, appears as
Michael her husband.
Their appearance at
Blyth makes a splendid
addition to the ongoing
winter programme. Do
plan to attend this
evening of live theatre.

• The Country Singles
celebrated the fourth
anniversary of the group
at the weekly dance
'Saturday night at the
Vanastra Recreation
Centre.
As usual the dance was
well attended. Over 325
signed in for the evening
of fellowship, dancing
and food. A buffet lunch is
served after each dance
and Saturday a big bir-
thday cake marked the
anniversary.

public relations and

my brother's keeper?";
Jesus talking to a woman
of Samaria; the Good.
Samaritan, and brotherly
love. The thoughts in the
Bible are as new as
tomorrow's newspaper.
The president, Mrs.
Dave Triebner ' read a
poem from her secret pal
and Mrs. Grace Drum-
mond favoured with two
readings. The roll call
was answered by telling
the part of the newspaper
you read first. Mrs.

With her essay entitled,
"The Trunk of the Tree,"
Lorelei Robinson will be
competing with a number
of other young writers at
the provincial level in the
Royal Canadian Legion
literary contest.
Lorelei, a grade 5
student at Huron Cen-
tennial School • near
Brucefield, won in the
zone level of the Legion
sponsored contest.
From there she went on
to the division )eyel,
Which had 53 different
legions competing, and
she took first place there.
Other winners in the
contest included Gail
Horton, who took first
place at the zone level
with her poem "Poppies"
and Elizabeth Konarski,
who placed second with
her essay, "Con-
federation, a Lost
Cause". Both girls are
grade 12 students at
CHSS.
Elizabeth came second
in the district level, but
her placing wasn't high
enough to allow her in the
provincial competition.
