Rev. Snell at
Londesboro
United Church

There was a, good
turnout on Sunday
morning when Rev.
Harold Snell of Exeter
was the guest minister.
Londesboro United is his
home church.
As his message, Rev.
Snell spoke on, "What
should the church be
doing now. The church is
you and me." He also
gave the children's story.
The congregation was
greeted by Ruthann
Penfound and the ushers
were Bob Jamieson, Bob
Penfound, Kevin Tam-
blyn and Wayne Hulley.
Louise McGregor was
the organist and Ruth
Shaddick directed the
choir. The junior
congregation teachers
were Barbara Bosman,
Christine Carter and
Susan Jamieson.
Cheerio Club
The Cheerio Club held
their meeting on
February 21 at the home
of Margaret. Good. She
welcomed the group with
a poem.
The minutes of the last
meeting and the financial
report were given by the
secretary -treasurer
Gladys Armstrong. A
card of thanks was
received from Vi Burns.
The roll call was an-
swered by eight members
and one visitor, Kay
Longman who each
named a current event.
A guessing contest on
the contents of a parcel
was conducted by Tri
Duizer. Since no one
guessed the contents,
tickets were sold and
Dora Shobbrook won the
package. Mrs. Shobbrook
won a second contest,
guessing the -parts of the
bawdy, led by Addie
Hunking.
Mrs. Hunking gave a
reading and several
garl?es of cards were
played.' Lunch was then
served by Mrs. Good and
Mrs. Hunking.
Aimwell Unit
The Aimwell Unit of tilt_
UCW met on February 19,
joining in supper with
their families at the
church.
After the meal, Gail
Lear led in a sing song,
followed by a piano solo
given by Darlene Hulley
and a duet given by
Darlene and Denise
John Cartwright gave a
speech on Valentine's
Day. David Whyte and
David Stevenson then
played a number of tunes
on their guitars and
Crystal Whyte played a
piano solo. Jim Jamieson
showed a film. Audrey
Thompson and June
Fothergill were in charge,
of the program.
WI card party
°There were nine tables
in play at the February
23 WI card party. Hattie
Snell, Annie Vincent and
Alice Buchanan were in
charge of the evening.
The winners included:
lone hands, Margaret
Taylor and Eric
Anderson; high winners,
Helen Lawson and Jack
Riley; low winners,
Verna Glazier. and
Wilfred Glazier; most
zeros, Ted Fothergill.
The next card party
will beheld on March 9.
Londesboro III, 4-H
The second meeting of
the Londesboro III, 4H
club was held on
February 19 at the home
of Marjorie Duizer. The
name of the club was
chosen, the Super Ser-
vers.
There were 11 mem-
bers, one pre -4 -Her and
two leaders present. The
two new members are
Rose and Joan Mason.
Discussion was held on
the different kinds of
hats, how to prepare and
make them and the kinds
of material available.
The refreshments were.
brought by Judy Datema
and Mary Anderson.
Needlepoint
Needlepoint classes
will beheld in the Lon-
desboro Community Hall
on March 6 at 7:30 p.m.
and March 8 at 1 p.m.
