The project would have provided three months of employment for four workers in disassembling the log chapel and relocating it on the Playhouse property. • The project was Despite the very cold weather, George Rich of the Varna General Store, assisted by Ross Whittaker, treated the village children to a tollioggan party and welner roast last Sunday afternoon. Here some of the kids warm themselves near the fire built to roast the dogs. Included in the picture are Tom Whittaker, Doug Roy, Laura Roy, George Whit- taker, Scott McAsh, and Donna Whittaker. On Saturday afternoon, our three cribbage teams journeyed to Lucknow for the zone cribbage tour- nament at which 14 teams participated. Two of our teams qualified for the district tournament which will be held at Branch 296 Harriston on April 7th. Our first team, which came second overall, consisted of Comrades J.K. ' Cornish, John Deeves, Eric Switzer, and Bob Dalrymple. J.K. was the spark plug of that team, which goes to show you that our first World War Vet "Cpl" is still in there as tough as ever. Our second team came sixth overall and will also re.resent us at the District. They consist of Comrades Bill Harris, Jim Armstrong, Brian Reeves, and Barry Davis. Our congratulations to these Comrades and we wish them much success at the District Tour- nament. Our entertainment chairman, Comrade Harvey Hayter, was elated with the at- tendance at our February Social last Saturday evening as about 60 couples were present. The music provided by the Royalaires was just what the patrons enjoyed, as it turned -out to be, by far, the best social we've had in a long time. Perhaps Harvey, we're on the road to recovery. Our president's wife, Hilda Semple, was overjoyed at winning the. raffle prize which I'm sure they'll both enjoy to. the fullest.
