His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Nicholson, were also guests and celebrated their 61st anniversary as did Mr. and Mrs. John Menheere of RR 2 Dublin. Also present were Stephen, David and Paul Menheere and Mr. and Mrs. Gary Nicholson, Laurie and Connie of Port Albert.., ti OBITUARIES Members pj St. Mark's Anglican'CT urch learned of the death or a former rector (1965-1968), Rev. E. Gladstone ) Pakenham of 105(PeterCherry Hill Boulevard, London in his 81st year at the Westminster Campus of Victoria hospital. ' He i"s survived by his wife, Anne (Pocock) (Powell) and step- children Jack and Beth O'Bright of Thamesford and their three children, John, Genyne and Sara. A memorial service was held last Thursday at the Beattie Funeral Home in Clinton for Mrs. Arthur ' Hallam who passed away in Clinton hospital on January 13. Besides her husband, she is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Jim (Grace) Cartwright of RR 3, Blyth, Mrs. Evelyn Caldwell of Goderich, Mrs. Lois Rueger of Exeter, Mrs. Elmer (Betty) Debold of RR6 Goderich and Mrs. Joyce Essery" of London. four sons, Arthur of Fort St. John, B.C., Raymond of Goderich, Ralph of Clinton, and Howard at home; 18 grandchildren;.. two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Stan (Alice) Wilson of London, Mrs. Mervyn (Evelyn) Falconer of RR3 Seaforth and Mrs. Wilfred (Grace) Hamel of Kitchener, and two brothers, Mel Steep of Cambridge and Albert Steep of London. Mr. and Mrs'. Hallam and family resided for many years in the Auburn district before they moved to Hensall and Vanastra. LIONS CLUB Auburn and District Lions Club held their annual Ladies' Night in the Auburn Community Memorial Hall with President Lion, Bud chamney in the chair. The minutes were accepted as read by the secretary Lion Bob Worsell The guest speaker, District Governor Ron Finlay, was introduced by Lion Bill Crawford. He spoke on Lionism and was thanked by Lion Randy Machan. District Governor Ron presented a Past President's, pin to Lion Fred Lawrence with the President's 100 percent award. President Lion Bud Chamney read correspondence from LIF Chairman Paul Schutz, thanking them for their ddnation. The Lions Club members are asked to assist with two upcoming snowmobile rallies; Timmy snowmobile rally on' February 4 and the Auburn Poker Rally on February 18. Lion Don Coghlin from the Howick Lions Club presented Lion Steve Campbell with a ,cheque for the Auburn Lions for work at the' Lions Club Beer Tent at the Ploughing match.
