The president, Mrs. Bertha MacGregor presided over the business and ex: tended the invitation from the Kippen. Prize winners were: ladies' high, Mrs. Gertie Moir; gent's, high, Alex McBeath; lone hands, Mrs. Wm. Rogerson; ladies' consolation, Mrs. Alf Ross ; gent's con- solation, Bert Horton. Refreshments were served with the following committee in charge: entertainment, Bertha MacGregor, Pearl Koehler, Elsie Carlile; lunch, Alice Ferg, Eileen Rannie, Elizabeth Riley. Former Hensall man Wes Jack A. 'Peebles of London passed away in St. Joseph's Hospital, Lorcdon on Monday, January 8, 1979 in his 57th year. The deceased Was a former resident of Hensall having operated a bake shop here some years ago. He is surviyed by hiS wife, M-rs. Marion (Sangster) Peebles; children, Monica, Gregory,Jack and Ivor all at home; brother Ross Peebles, Elmira; and sisters, Mrs. Jack (Ruth) Turner, Waterloo and Mrs. Arthur (Alice) Stead of Port Colborne. He was predeceased by a 'brother Donald (1962). Funeral services were held from the Peebles Fpneral Home, Atwood on Thursday, January 11 conducted by the Rev. Thomas A. A. Duke. Interment in Elma Centre Cemetery. 4-1-11eaders rewarded , Mrs. Cecil Pepper presided for th,e Hensall Women's -Institute meeting on Wednesday evening and opened with a poem on "New Year's". The roll call was an- swered by quoting the price one paid for an article purchased when you were married. The 4-H leaders, namely Joyce Pepper, Betty Beer and Dianne Gprstenkorn and the three assistants Marylin Pepper, Trudy Ferguson and Jill McLellen were awarded prizes which were presented by Mrs. Eileen Rannie. 'Special honour went to Marylin Pepper for 12 clubs and Advanced honours to Jill McLellan for 18 clubs. The guest speaker was Mrs. Cathy Pryde of Exeter who works with the "Family Children Services". Slides were shown on the abuse and question and answer period followed Mrs. Pryde's address, which was most interesting and Mrs. Gladys Coleman presented • Mrs. Pryde wail a gift.
