Members of the Orange
Lodge have the ice in the
arena now. With the cold
weather during the latter
part of last week, it didn't
take long to get it ready
for skating.
If you like to warm up
the winter weather with
dancing, set Feb. 10 aside
for the Orange Lodge
dance at Hully Gully with
-the Music Makers.
There appeared to be
fewer people than other
years at the ball park on
Friday night for the
Christmas tree bonfire
and wiener roast. While
the heap of trees was
smaller, it still made a
spectacular blaze. The
weather was perfectpand
the bhildren were having
a great time building
pyramids and playing in
the crisp snow.
A new 4-1-1 Club course,
"Accessories - the Final
Touch", will begin next
Monday, Jan. 22 at Sandy
Hayter's home at 7:30.
Any girls who will be 12
before the first of March,
and who would like to join
the 4-14 Club now, may
call Kate Keys at 262-5362
or Sandy Hayter at 262-
5856.
Mack Webster whose
homecoming was delayed
because his fracture had
to be re -set after the
swelling subsided,
arrived home on Tuesday
from • St. Joseph's
Hospital in London.
UCW meets
Eleanor McAsh opened
the first UCW meeting of
the new year with a
reading and prayer. The
worship service on the
New Year theme was
'presented by Nora -Heard
-&icl Lynda Postill.
, Reports were read by
thesecretary, Shirley
Hill, and -treasurer Marg
Hayter. Last year was a
good year financially,
and many donations were
made to worthy
organizations. The $100 in
envelope givings over our
.allocation was designated
for World Relief. Dorothy
Ostrom was elected to the
'office of envelope
secretary.
An appeal has been
received from the London
Mission for warm
clothing and footwear for
men. Some have already
been • delivered, but if
anyone else would like to
donate, please leave
them with Margaret Hunt
or Helen Taylor as soon
as possible.
Dinner prices were
raised to $4.75 if served at
the church, $5 if served
elsewhere. A dinner was
served on Monday, die
eighth, to members of the
Orange Lodge.
The Presbyterial an-
nual meeting is on
Tuesday, January 30 in
St. James Church,
'Boxeter. Anyone* who
would. like to attend
should let Eleanor know.

teresting and worthwhile
meeting. Morning
speakers are Phillip and
Joanne M'cGary, and • in
the afternoon Dr.
Katherine Hockin will
speak on Women's and
Children's Rights. Please
-bring your own lunch.
Beverages will be sup-
plied by the host church.
The Pancake Supper
will be on Feb. 27. Fur-
ther .plans will be made at
• the February meeting.

decided to make an
autographed ' quilt. A
committee was set up to
plan the design and get it
ready to work on.

beautifully bound book of
poems titled "Better than
Gold".

and Lynda.
