Goderich Township

members heard a request
from Alexandra Marine

approve their proposed

renovations. Council
moved to accept the sum
of $1,588 as the township's
share of the project with
the understanding, that
$1,588 is the top cut off
figure, and that if the
project is constructed for'
less than the estimate,
the township's share Will
be reduced on a pro rata
basis.
George Brophy
presented a sub -dividers
agreement to council on
behalf of S.A.M. Council

Council did not approve
of the 40 residences all

since the road is paved
and is under Bayfield
jurisdiction, it should be
better able to handle all
traffic created by the
proposed sub -division.
Building permits were
issued to Sid Bruinsma to
demolish a back portion
of a house and erect a two
storey addition to the
house.
Council 'pas,sed a
motion that the road
grader operators be paid

the group benefits be paid
by the township. Council

The first card party of
the season was held at the
township hall on Friday
night with eight tables in
play. The Clinton papers
for the Varna area went
astray and didn'-t arrive
here until Saturday,
which may have affected
attendance somewhat.
Mary Wood's efforts in
informating customers
who came into the store
were appreciated.
The prize winners, by
an unusual coincidence,
were couples. W.D.
"Dub" Wilson took the
men's high prize, his wife
Doris got ladies' low. Bill
Chessell had men's low,
his wife Mary won ladies'
high. (Bill claimed it was
the bad cards he was
dealt, and set out to prove
it by trouncing my
partner and I soundly the
next night.) Draw win-
ners at the card, party
were Mrs. Mary Grigg,
Mrs. Isobel Rodgers,
Julie Webster and Mrs.
Grace McClinchey.
