Sgt. Doug Wein of the RCMP , Mrs. Wein and David returned to Ottawa after spending the holiday season with Mrs. Wein's parents, Mr, and Mrs. Harold Parker and members of the family. Prior to returning their family surprised them with a family gathering at which time they were presented with a pair of lamps in honour of their 15th we,dding an- niversary. Aaron and Alyson Hoy of London spent the holidays with their grandparents, ,Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hoy. They accompanied their parents Mr. and Mrs. Michael Hoy who visited with the former's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hoy, back to London after the holidays. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Fink and family, Mr. and Mrs. Brian Fink and Lorena, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hoy and Bill, and Mrs. T. Fletcher had a family reunion with Mr. Ed Fink at his home at Pte. Clark during the holidays. Chiselhurst UCW The first meeting for 1979 of the Chiselhurst UCW was held in the afternoon on January 2nd. Previously in the Morning, the members quilted and enjoyed a lunch together. The president, Mrs. Jack Brintnell conducted the Worship, "A Joyous New Year." The Roll Call , was answered by 10 members telling of a gift they received at Christmas. "Thank -you" notes were read from Thos. Brintnell, Earl Treffry and Jim McDougall. The, annual congregational meeting will be held February 2nd in conjunction with a "pot luck supper." The Huron UCW Presbyterial meeting will be held in Exeter United church on January 30th. Members decided to continue the Secret Pals. Their study on human rights was continued by, Mrs. Lauretta Riley and she had for her topic "the right to be socially responsible". The president read a New Year's poem and closed with the Lord's Prayer.
