their farm business,
according to the latest
issue of the ' Bank of
Montreal's Farm Profit
Management newsletter.
One major develop-
ment in this area, the
newsletter says, was the
recent government ruling
that' the transfer -of farm
business shares to
children is not subject to
a capital gains tax.
The newsletter lists a
number of reasons that
prompt farmers to in-
corporate, such as a more
orderly and gradual
transfer of the business
between generations;
greater flexibility in how
the owner is paid; a
fairer distribution of
farm income among
family members for a
better after-tax position
and a lower tax rate on
corporation income.
Chrignnas was a very

Mr. Ross was the master
of ceremonies and Mrs.
Hazlitt accompanied
many of the groups on the

our annual White Gift -
carol sing. Dozens of gifts
were brought to school by
our boys and girls. These
gifts will be distributed to.
needy families in the
Vanastra community by
the Vanastra, Lions Club.
Hopefully these families
will have a merrier -
Christmas because of the
generosity of our pupils.
On Tuescjay evening,
the Community was
invited to a movie "The
Snowball Express".- It
was enjoyed by an
audience of pupils ani
adults from our school,
young people from the
community and adults
from the community. It
was a very enjoyable,
