Trip to the farm
On' Thursday
November 30, I liked our
trip to the Dale's Dairy
Farm because it had a
baby cow and the hens
were big. The hens laid
big eggs and some had
big feet. There was a cow
named Happy and
another one named Fred.
Also there was a bull
with a ring through his
nose. He weighed a 1,000
pounds. We asked Mr.
Dale if we could feed the
cows and he said yes.
Then we went to the
milking room again. Mrs.
Dale gave us an apple.
Then we went out to the
bus and left for Mr. and
Mrs. Johns' Beef Farm.
We saw beef cattle and
the silage that Mr. Johns
feeds the cows. We went
to see the goats and Mr.
Johns milked one. Then
we went into Mrs. Johns
house and had hot
chocolate and cookies.

On Thursday
+November 30 grade 3
went to two local farms.
We started our trip by
going to Dale's Dairy
farm. We got off the bus
and we went into the
barn. We saw the
machines that milk the
cattle. Some of my
friends put their fingers
into it but I did not. We
saw a lot of cows then we
went into another room.
There were some hens
and a little calf, it was
soft and it was 3 days old.
We saw a bull and it was
bigger than the other

rooms 'and Mrs. Dale
gave up apples.
Then we went to Mr.
and Mrs. Johns' Beef
farm. We saw the cows
and they were running all
over the pen. We saw the
silage and the vitamin
tank. Then we went to see
their goats named Lily
and Snowdrop. Mr. Johns
showed up his
machinery. He also had
some skins of racoons.

house and had hot

Helpful Hints
Use eight tennis balls to
make a Christmas
wreath. Dye the balls red
or green and let them
dry. Drill holes the size of
a coat -hanger wire
through each ball. Bend a
hanger into a circle and
string balls onto it. Fill in
the spaces with greenery
and tie a bow on top.
Children will have fun
making creative, inex-
pensive Christmas gift
tags with a box of
assorted cookie cutters
(bells, stars, gingerbread
men, . Christmas trees,
etc.), greeting cards,
pencils, scissors, a hole
puncher and a ball of red
or green twine. Place
cookie cutter • over the
card, outline with pencil,
cut out, punch a hole at
,one end, insert the string,
and the children have
finished their gift tags!
Water your Christmas
tree by putting ice cubes
in the base of the stand.
This will keep it from
drying out and becoming
a fire hazard.
Vanastra Public School placed third in the school
category with this float entered in the Santa Claus
parade held -in Goderich last Saturday. The
Vanastra Brownies placed second in the youth
