BY MILENA LOBB
It Looks like winter is
here and despite the
beautiful fall, there are
still jobs to do before too
much of the white stuff
really comes to stay.
The two new homes in
the area are pretty well
closed up and will provide
inside work for the
winter. There has been
quite a bit of construction
going on with the two
houses, a hog barn, the
improvement of our road
and a new bridge.
Last word from Gary
Tebbutt and Brian Lobb
in Edmonton was that it
was COLD, like minus
26C. They have had a
good taste of snow also.
Phyllis Thompson
visited with Marion in
Toronto recently.
Dave and Madeline
Bartlett have been busy.
Adrianne and Peter were
flowergirl and ring bearer
at Dave's sister's wed-
ding last weekend.
Community Club
Lula Merrill , was
hostess for the November
meeting of the SS 4
Community Club.
President Milena Lobb
opened the meeting with
a poem "If God Went on
Strike." Roll call was
answered by the 18
members and one visitor
with the number of
callers they had on
Halloween night,
Dianne Lobb read the
minutes of the previous
meeting and Norene
Tebbutt gave her
treasurer's report. The
usual donation of $10 was
voted for the Children's
Aid. The expenses for the
T-shirts for the Goderich
Township Recreation
Fund amount to $25 and
the members voted to pay
this out of the Club's
funds. Orders are still
open for Christmas till
November 29th. These
make excellent stocking
stuffers so keep them in
mind. The beige color' 'is
now available. Phone
Madeline Bartlett 482-
3182.
The December meeting
will be held December 6th
in thy; ;afternogn at , their
home of* Harriett'Tynd'aI1.
The usual Christmas gift
exchange will be held so
don't forget your gifts
worth $2. The nominating
committee will have the
new slate of officers for
79-80
The Penny Sale draw
was made while we en-
joyed the lunch provided
by Jean Lobb and Verna
Lobb.
Brussels lady
on council
For the first time in
Brussels history, a
woman will sit on the
village council.
The Brussels Post
reported that newcomer
Betty Graber topped the
council race with 512
votes and will sit on the
council for the next two
year term.
As well as her new face,
Brussels will be seeing
the face of 'newcomer
Gordon Workman on
council as well. Workman
followed Graber at the
polls with 491 votes.
