Kintail Camp expands with new dining hall BY JOANNE BUCHANAN A special sod -turning ceremony wasd held at the Presbyterian Church's camp Kintail on Sunday afternoon to mark the beginning of the construction of a new $250,000 dining hall, health unit, lodge and sekwage system. Charley Lemmex, chairman of site development, told those present at the ceremony that the construction project represented a "miracle" and an "in- vestment in the youth and future of the church." The Lake Huron camp presently provides nine one-week sessions for about 530 boys and girls from Presbyterian churches in Southwestern Ontario, a synod with about 80,000 members. But once the new con- crete -block building and improved sewage facilities are completed, the camp is expected to support about 1,000 campers per season, according to Lemmex. He said the foundation of the building is ex- pected to be completed this fall and the facilities should be completed by spring. The building is the first of five phases of redevelopment at the camp where children may hike, play sports, learn crafts and swim in a Christian environment, Lemmex said. Those doing the ground breaking honors at the ceremony were The Reverend W.O. Jarvis, chairman of the Camp Kintail Board and The Reverend R.D. MacDonald, Clerk of the Synod of Hamilton and London. Before the first coming of Christ, the Spirit was present in the world in the same sense that He Is present everywhere and He worked in and through God's people according to His divine will. Genesis 41:38; Zechariah 4:6, etc. He restrained sin in the world; He enabled believers for service, and He per- formed miracles. In the New Testament He was the power by which the God -man was formed in the virgin's womb. Luke 1:35. He also descended upon Christ at. the time of His baptism. Luke 3:22. It was through the eternal Spirit that Christ offered Himself to God. Hebrews 9:14. The Holy Spirit came in a special way on the day of Pentecost. Though He had been present in the world before Pentecost He came to make His abiding place in the church for this age. God the Father is present everywhere, yet He is "Our Father which art in heaven." Christ, though present everywhere, is in a definite way seated at the right hand of God. Hebrews 1:3. The Spirit, though present everywhere is in a special way resident in the church which is in the world. Read Acts chapter 2.
