MVCA gets grant
A provincial grant of
$107,625 to the Maitland
Valley Conservation
Authority will facilitate
the purchase of 200 acres
of property in West
Wawanosh Township,
Huron County.
Purchase of the
property is part of an •
intensive water land
management program •
for forest and wetland
areas identified and
mapped by the MVCA,
Natural Resources
Minister, James Auld
said recently in an-
nouncing the grant.
The purpose of the
program is to protect all
such areas, particularly
those exceding 100 acres
through the application of
appropriate management
techniques such as
acquisition, agreement
with land owners or
regulation, the Minister
said.
The property to be
purchased by the MVCA
contains 60 acre Lake
Wawanosh, 40 acres of
cleared land and 100
acres of forest which
resource studies suggest
as ideal for forest
management, con-
servation education,
wildlife habitat and
various types of outdoor
recreation..
The Authority plans to
fence the property prior
to the preparation of a
master plan for the area.
The estimated total
cost of the purchase is
$205,000.

totalling $2,700 from the three area banking establishments. Bank of Mon-
treal's Earl Hilderley, the Royal Bank's Iner Smith, and the Credit Union's

There's a lot of inside
for such a small outside
That's right, a lot more inside.
The new G.L.C. wagon has 113%,
more cargo space than the GLC,
and is only 9" longer than the
GLC. The new GLC wagon isn't a
hatchback in disguise either. It's
built to be a wagon, it weighs
more, it's 2" higher in the back,
it hos bigger front disc brakes, a
bigger gas tank and higher road
clearance. And in front of that,
all GLC's have a new higher per-
formance engine for improved
acceleration, more pulling
power and quieter operation.
Just look at what we put into our
GLC wagon. And just think of
what you'll be able to.
