NOVEMBER 2 . 1978 Lo,tdesboro activities by Dora Shobbrook United Church Welcoming into the Narthex on Sunday at 10:30 am were Miss Edythe Beacom and Jim Jamieson, and the ushers were David Lear, Ken Pollard, Edward Riley and Bob Thompson. Choir anthem was "for the beauty of the earth" with Mrs. Allen Shaddick, choir director and Mrs. Glenn McGregor organist. Mrs. Margaret Whyte, Clerk of Session invited the parents to present their children to Rev. McDonald for baptism. They were: Shaun Douglas, son of Douglas and Nancy Anstett; Robbie James Corrie, son of James and Rosemary Johnston; Leanne Marlene Thurlow, Ann Marie Thurlow and William Rod Thurlow, children of Marlene and Ken Armstrong. Junior kindergarten teachers were Mrs. Melvin Knox, Mrs. Ron Gross and Sharon Thompson. Rev. McDonalds message was "baptism the sacrament of beginning, good for life". Flowers on memorial stand were placed in living memory of Gena Jenkins by her husband Gordon. Explorers The Explorers met October 26th with 20 girls present. The Explorers emblem was 'presented by Marni Gibbings and Brenda Nesbitt. Connie Hoggart presented . the Explorer picture, and Mrs. Wright gave the lesson about "love". A Hallowe'en craft was made. The first girls were initiated and had a Hallowe'en party to .close the meeting. Londesboro-14:-1-1 The Londesboro 1 4-H third meeting was held at Hatti Snell's, who opened the meeting with the pledge with everybody present. Discussion that would have the club name be "Mighty Metric Meal Makers". All agreed to have the next meeting at the home of Mary FBuffinga. Chowder was made and tested the carrot and peanut butter spread, and the apple and peanut butter spread on Yogurt loaf. Personals Mrs. Dorothy Mq,Cool, Clinton, widow of the late Fred McCool, former residents of this com- munity, passed away on Thursday in Clinton Public Hospital. Sym- pathy is expressed to her family, Mrs. Roy (Doris) Green, Toronto, Mrs. Orval (Jane) Wolfe, Cambridge, Paul, Wingham and Bob of Londesboro. Mrs. Jack Lee was admitted to Clinton Public Hospital Wed- nesday night, having surgery Saturday morning. We wish her a speedy recovery. Sunday visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Johnston and family were Mr. and Mrs. Harry Kowalchuek, Lisa and Stephen of Kincardine. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Scholl of Monkton and Mr. and Mrs. Ken Scott Billie, Joe and Christie were . Sunday supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Scott Sr. Visiting withMr. and Mrs. Jim Jnston on Sunday and attending the baptismal service were her sister Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Simpson, Doug, Daryl and Darren of Exeter.
