He said, "I will come again and receive you unto myself," John 14:3. This will be the event which Paul tells us of in IThessalonlans 4:16- 18, "The Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout...we shall ever be with the Lord." The Lord Jesus also foretold His return to judge wicked men on earth. Matthew chapters 24 and 25 record many things He said on that subject. For example, Chapter 24:30, "And then shall appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they, shall see the Son of Man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory." Old Testament prophets as far back as Enoch saw that this would come, Jude verses 14, 15. Paul foretold that day, 11 Thessalonians 1:7-10, and the larger part of the book of Revelation tells of conditions on earth' leading up to that event and also after it happens. Read Revelation chapters 4 to 22. What is the world coming to? It is going on to certain destruction and judgment.
