Clinton home for couple
The Dungannon United
Church was decorated
with flowered can-
delabra, tapers and
streamers, for the double
ring ceremony uniting in
marriage Debra
Elizabeth Schultz and
Kevin Murray Rourke on
Saturday, September 9 at
6:30 p.m.
The bride is the
daughter of Gordon and
Mary Schultz of
Dungannon. The groom is
the son of Murray and
Ada Rourke of RR3
Auburn.
The Reverend C. G.
Westhaver officiated at
the ceremony. Mrs. Carol
Reed was organist.
The bride was given in
marriage by her parents.
She wore a gown of satin
crystalet featuring long
bell sleeves, a keyhole
neckline trimmed with
alecon lace and a long full
chapel train with a
flounce which fell from
the waistline at the back.
Her headpiece, a Juliet
caplet, held a pure silk
illusion veil trimmed with
alecon lace. She carried a
cascade of red roses and
baby's breath.
Maid of honour was
Charlene Rourke, sister
of the groom.
Bridesmaids were
Brenda Woods and
Bonnie Gibbings, sisters
of the bride and Michele
Rourke, sister-in-law of
the groom.
They all wore full-
length gowns of orange
ice polyester with
shoestring straps and
featuring floral chiffon
jackets trimmed with
lace. They wore white
picture hats trimmed
with lace and matching
material "from the
jackets. They carried
floral bouquets of white
daisies and orange
mums.
Flowergirl was Angela
Woods, niece of the bride.
She was dressed in a
floor -length ''gown of
white bridal satin similar
to the bride's. Her
headpiece was a bandeau
of satin covered flowers.
She carried a nosegay of
red roses.
Groomsman was Jim
Blewett of St. Thomas,
friend of the groom.
Ushers were Bob
Woods and John Gib-
bings, brothers-in-law of
the bride and Bob
Rourke, brother of the
groom.
Ring bearer was
Michael Gibbings,
nephew of the bride.
The groom was attired
in a sandalwood Bentley
tuxedo with walnut satin
lapels and trim. His
boutonniere was a yellow
rose.
The ushers and ring
bearer were similarly
attired except with
walnut trousers. Their
boutonnieres were yellow
carnations.
The mother of the bride
wore a mint green gown
of polyester with long full
sleeves. Her corsage was
pink carnations.
The groom's mother
wore a peach polyester
gown with empire waist,
lace top, long full sheer
sleeves and a sleeveless
lace coat. Her corsage
was white carnations.
For a wedding trip to
Niagara Falls and New
York state, the bride
chose a rust pant suit.
Mr. and Mrs. Rourke
will reside in Clinton.
Prior to the wedding,
the bride was honored
with a relative shower
given by Brenda Woods;
a girlfriend shower given
by Charlene Rourke; and
a community shower at
the Dungannon United
Church.
Following the wedding
rehearsal, the groom's
parents entertained the
bridal party and friends.
Guests were present at
the wedding from St.
Thomas, Guelph, London,
Toronto, Clinton,
Goderich, Auburn and
Dungannon.
Noisy Lady tops
The Lucknow Sentinel
reported that the Noisy
Lady, owned by Glen
Porter and Art Helm of
Lucknow placed first in
the 9,000 modified class
championship of the
Molson's Canadian
Tractor Pulling
Association Points
Series.
The Lady came third in
the 7,000 pound modified
class. She pulled up from
third spot at the halfway
stage to capture the 9,000
modified class cham-
pionship with 146 of a
possible 212 points.

The Brussels Post
reported that a Walton
man, Robert Collins, 33,
suffered a fractured hip
recently as a result of an
accident at the Inter-
national Plowing Match
site when the building he
was working on collapsed
on top of him. Mr. Collins
is reported to be in stable
condition in Wingham
Hospital.
The Wingham OPP
reported that Collins was
working inside a display
building which was put up
by Perth builders but
later sold to Gary Dietz of
RR3 Mildmay. Collins
was working on the
beams, dismantling it
when the building started
to sway. Collins tried to
jump but the building
came down on top of him.

Old age pensions upped this month
Increases in the Old
Age Security pension,
Guaranteed Income
Supplement and Spouse's
Allowance, effective in
October, 1978, were an-
nounced today by Health
and Welfare Minister
Monique Begin.
Increases in Old- Age
Security pension and
Guaranteed Income
Supplement payments
represent the twentieth
quarterly escalation
based on the cost of
living, as provided for in
the Old Age Security Act
since October, 1973.
The new monthly total
at the single rate for
persons receiving • both
the basic Old Age
Security pension and
maximum Guaranteed
Income Supplement will
be $280.29.
For a married couple,
both pensioners, the
combination of the basic
pension and maximum
supplement will provide a
monthly payment of
$534.70 for the couple,

The basic Old Age
Security pension will rise
in October to $164.74 from,.
the present $159.79.
The Guaranteed
Income Supplement is
paid to pensioners whose
income, apart from the
Old Age Security pension,
is limited. The amount of
the supplement varies in
relation to the amount of
income.
The maximum
Guaranteed Income
Supplement for a single
person, or a married
person whose spouse is
not a pensioner and is not
receiving a Spouse's
Allowance, will go up in
October to $115.55 from its
current $112.08. The
maximum supplement
for a married couple,
both pensioners, will
increase to $102.61 each
from $99.52. Added to the
basic pension, this will
give each married
pensioner $267.35 mon-
thly, or a total of $534.70
for the couple.
The.p.ouse's
Allowance is - paid to
persons between 60 and 65
years of age who are
married to Old Age
Security pensioners and
meet residence
requirements.
Entitlement to a Spouse's
Allowance, and amount
paid, is based on yearly
income.
The maximum
Spouse's Allowance will
increase to $267.35 from
$259.31. The maximum
Spouse's Allowance is
made up of an amount
equivalent to the basic
Old Age Security pension
and the maximum
Guaranteed Income
Supplement at the
married rate.
