How to meet your parents at the aiio
"Hi mom!" "Hi sun,
anything happen ' while
we were away?"
Oh, nothing much. Oh
yeah, the roses died."
"Oh how?"
"Whey wilted from the
heat of the fire." "Fire?
What fire?"
"Oh the garage fire."
"How did the garage
catch on fire?"
"The flames jumped
over from the house."
"How did the house catch
on fire?"
"Oh, don't worry, there
was nothing valuable in it
at the time."
"Why not?"
"It started just after
the burglars left."
"But how did the house
catch on fire?"
"The gas truck ran into
it."
"Why?"
It swerved to avoid the
elephants."
"Elephants," weakly.
"The ones that escaped
from the zoo."
"How did they escape?"
"The wall of their cage
fell over."
"Why?"
?
"Because the ground
was so soggy."
"Why was the ground
soggy?"
"Because of the 'flood,
naturally."
"Naturally. What flood?"
"The one from the tidal
wave."
"Tidal wave!"
"The one from the
explosion."
"I give up, what ex-
plosion?"
Don't worry, the fallout
didn't hurt the ducks."
"Ducks?"
Sure, the ones in the
basement."
"Ducks in the
basement."
"Yeah, the basement
flooded,"

"The pipes broke when
grandpa fell in."
"How, I'm almost afraid
to ask, did grandpa fall
in?"
"He fell through the
hole in the roof."
"What hole?"
"The one the lightening
made."
"Lightening hit the
roof?"
"Look on the bright
side, It didn't hit- the
trees."
"Why didn't it hit the
trees?"

"What tornado?"
"The third one."
"Third!"
"Yeah. The first one
took the car, and the
second flattened Dad's

"But what about the
flooded basement?"
"Don't worry. All the
water drained out
through the cracks."
"Cracks?"

"Uh huh."

Thanksgiving,
now and then
In case you were
puzzled as to why you had
such a long holiday this
weekend, it was because
of a day celebrated in
1620 when the Pilgrims
and Indians gathered for
a feast of the Autumn's
Harvest.
Today we celebrate
Thanksgiving by visiting
relatives, having turkey
dinners, (not the Swanson
kind) watching some
football or by going to a
special Mass service to
offer thanks for the
0year's progress.
Holidays such as these
are useful for doing
forgotten homework, late
assignments catching up
on some reading (or
sleep, depending on what
you have been doing the
past few days)
For my Thanksgiving
weekend I had a turkey
dinner, complete with
cranberries, turnip,
dressing and potatoes
and delicious pumpkin
pie. I hope your holiday
was as scrumptious and
enjoyable as mine !

LIVE ENTERTAINMENT
AT THE
challenged the students
to a basketball game. The
announcement was made
by an obviously
organized team, over the
Tuesday morning an-
nouncement. The game
was to be played in
Tuesday's activity period
and the students were
expected to be at their
peak of proficiency by
this time.
In those six hours-, the
students got together a
haphazard team to play
the teachers, which
consisted of Mr. B.
(Bruiser) Reeves, Mr. B.
(Bombshell) Munroe,
Mr. D. (Dagger) Ludwig,
Mr. T. (Tackhammer)
Howard, Mr. K (Killer)
Clynick, and Mr. K.
(Kluts) Allen (such knee
action) .
The Student's team
consisted of Gerry 13e11,
Jeff Schmidt, John
Coleman, Bill Tackson,
Mike Thomson, Ben
Munnings, Chris McNall,
Paul Weslake, Joe
Verberne, Al Young and
coach, general manager
and part time player,
Wendy Tyndall.
The Teacher's
(wrestling) basketball
team won over the hard
working students, who
recognized the fact that
most of the members of
the opposition were
teachers of their classes,
by a mere two points 16-
14. Wait till volleyball.
Just ask Dear Annie
Dear Annie:
I'm writing to complain
about the ignorant things
people write on
washroom walls. I can't
enter a washroom around
here without having my
eyes assaulted with an
obscene- suggestion,
saying or joke. Frankly, I
can't stand it. Can't we
stop this? - signed , pug -
eyed _
Dear B.E.
I agree that it's an-
noying, but the truth is
that some bods, no
matter how clean the
washrooms are kept are
going to try to wreck the
paint job. The only thing
you can do is to carry a
washcloth or something
with you to scrape these
little notes off. Either
that or try to ignore them.
Dear Annie:
I've had it up to here.
We've only been in school
a few weeks and already
I've had about 15 pounds
of homework landed on
me, per night. Well,
maybe not that much, but
several nights I've been
up until 1 a.m. It's getting
so that I haven't got an
hour for "Charlie's
Angels' anymore and
I'm suffering. I want to
form an anti -homework
coalition within the
school... Da you,. .1.
have a chance of getting
members? - signed,
Book -Beaten
Dear Book -Beaten:
Yes, you's probably get
every kid (nearly) in the
school on your coalition.
" But it wouldn't probably
get very far if their
glorious leader started
flunking his classes
because he didn't do his
homework. About the
only thing you can do
right now,isepray that the
homework. stops corning.
By the 'Way, . if you do
start a coalitidp, do you
have root for nosy old
meas secretary?
