Margaret Whyte and Jack Lee welcomed the congregation into the narthex and the ushers were Barbara and Judy Carter. The choir sang the anthem under the direction of Ruth Shaddick, with Louise McGregor accompanying at the organ. A reception was held of new members who came by transfer: Mrs. Don Jewitt, Mrs. Ken Jewitt and Debbie Vella. Rev. Stan McDonald led in the sermon and the children's story. The junior teachers were Joan Mason and Barbara Knox. Nick Whyte ' and Bert Lyon assisted Rev. McDonald in serving the sacrament. Those who served the bread in- cluded, Margaret Taylor, Bert Shobbrook, David Lear, and Ken Pollard. Lloyd Pipe, Jack Tam- blyn, Lorne Hunking and Harry Snell served the wine. Personals Mr. and Mrs. Don Consineau, Donald, Jim and Tammie of Sault Ste. Marie, and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Alexander, David and Susan of Novi, Michigan, attended the International Plowing Match and visited on the weekend with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Alexander. Mr. and Mrs. Ted Fothergill and family attended the 25th wed- ding anniversary party of the latter's sister, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Simpson of Wingham on Saturday night: Miss Evelyn Wood of New Westminster, B.C., visited on Thursday with Mr. and Mrs. Reg awsbn, on- - and -Elizabeth.- On ' Saturday Mr. and Mrs. E. F. Warren of London visited at the same home. Miss Gladys Ross of Hamilton spent -a few days last week with Miss Edythe Beacom and Mrs. Laura Lyon. Mr. and Mrs. Win. Hamilton of Moorefield visited last week with Mr. and Mrs. Bob Thomson and attended the Plowing Match. Visitors last week with Mr. and Mrs. Allen Shaddick were Hugh and Stuart Kennedy along with Mel and Terry Fletcher, Cec McAdam and Russ Amy of Conquest, Saskatchewan. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Pipe returned home on September 28 after a ,three week vacation, visiting relations at Fort and Wetaskewan, Saskatchewan. Mr. and Mrs. Mac Sewers of Minesing visited last week with Mr. and Mrs. Harry Lear and attended the CHSS commencement on September 22 when their daughter Madelyn received her Year 5 graduation diploma. She is now attending Fan- shawe College. Rev. McDonald was in Tottenham on Saturday, attending the wedding of his friends, Laurent Jean and Anna Gormley. A number of people from this area attended the 50th wedding an- niversary of Mr. and Mrs: David Watson held in the Walton United Church Hall on Sunday af- ternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Watson, the former Lavina Rogerson, were married at the Lon- desboro Church on September 29, 1928. Attending the Blyth United . Church's thankoffering meeting on Sunday night were Helen Lawson, Betty Hulley, Florence Cartwright, Dora Shobbrook and Laura Lyon. The guest speaker was Miss Cecile Marquette of the Church of God.
