The sanctuary of Knox Presbyterian Church 'was beautifully decorated with baskets of yellow and blue - tinted gladioli and baby's breath and candelabras enhanced with similar blooms for the August 12 ceremony uniting in marriage. Mary Leslie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Maxwell Cutt, Goderich, and Brent Carlton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Baer, R.R. 4, Goderich. The double -ring ceremony was performed by Rev. G. Lockhart Royal and the wedding music was played by organist Lorne Dottetier. The bride,,given in marriage by her father wore an original gown of peau de sole. The scoop: -necked empire -waisted bodice was of imported French lace, matching the lace appliques and lace trim on the skirt, long pointed sleeves and cathedral train of the gown. Her matching lace wide -brimmed hat was trimmed with seed pearls and a lace -trimmed three -tiered blusher veil. The bride's flowers were a cascade of blush pink orchids entwined with stephanotis and tendrils of myrtle. The maid of honor, Miss Shelley Baer, sister of the groom, wore a yellow chiffon gown. The v -necked bodice featured a deep ruffled collar, which formed a capelet. She carried a cascade of miniature blue carnations . and stephanotis centered with a large white glamellia. The bridesmaid, Miss Marla Widdifield, cousin of the bride, was gowned similarly in blue chiffon. Her flowers were yellow carnations with a white glamellia. Both attendants wore hair bands of stephanotis and baby's breath. The groom was attired in a light blue tuxedo with dark blue velvet lapels, white ruffled shirt and a white rose boutonniere. His best man, Craig Morley, Clin- ton, and usher James Cutt, Goderich, were similarly attired but with shirts in yellow and blue and ° boutonnieres of a yellow rose. During the signing of the register, Piper Glen McGregor, Clinton, played Amazing. Grace, ac- companied by the organist and also., pipedrthe.bridid ... ,party from the church. A reception followed at the White Carnation, Holmesville. The bride's table was centered with a four -tiered wedding cake, flanked by arrangements of yellowand blue -tinted gladioli with lighted tapers. The guests' tables were adorned with centerpieces of blue and yellow carnations and mums: The bride's mother greeted guests wearing a full - skirted persimmon chiffon gown with matching elbow - length cape. The groom's mother was gowned in a sleeveless bright pink jersey with full pleated' An honoured guest at the wedding was the ride's maternal grandmother, Mrs. W.R. Copp, Windsor, She wore a lace -trimmed blue chiffon dress with long wing, sleeves. Both mothers and grandmother wore corsages of a white Japped orchid with stephanotis. Master of ceremonies for the reception was Fred Lobb, Clinton. The toast to the bride was proposed by John Schaefer, Goderich. For the wedding trip to Delawana Inn, Honey Harbour, Georgian Bay, the bride wore a street -length chiffon dress in shades of purple, brown and gold. The square -necked gown featured long, full sleeves gathered at the wrists and a tiered ruffled skirt. Her accessories were beige and brown and she wore a blush pink orchid. The groom was attired in a three- piece beige suit. Phone 482-9747 Married in Clinton St Joseph's Catholic Churol1 in Clinton was filled with baskets of yellow and gold mums and gladioli for the September 16 wedding of Karen R. Tyndall and Vince P. Mayne, both of Toronto. The bride is the daughter of Keith and Phyllis Tyndall of RR 1, Clinton. The groom's parents are Joseph and Elaine Mayne, Drayton. The double ring ceremony was conducted by Father Hardy assisted by Rev. Norman Pick, Mrs. Jo -Anne Cantelon provided the musical numbers. For the occasion,• the bride was gowned in a floor -length, white sheer dress which fell into a train in the back. The • dress featured full sleeves with a cuff of lace and seed pearls. The dress had a sweetheart neckline and a bodice trimmed with lace and see pearls. A two-tiered wast length veil fell from the headdress. It was finished with; trim that matched the dress. To complete' her outfit the bride carried a bouquet of stephanotis and sweetheart roses. Cheryl Tyndall, ' the sister of the bride from Edmonton, and the maid of honor was dressed in an apricot yellow, jersey knit gown with an ac- cordion pleated skirt and a matching silk lace shawl. She carried a bouquet of silk flowers in tones of yellow, peach, orange and white. The bridal attendants were Susan Tyndall, Waterloo and Wendy Tyndall, Clinton, both sisters of the bride; and Maureen Mayne, Drayton, a sister of the groom. They were dressed identically to the maid of honor. The best man was Tom Mayne, Drayton, a brother of the groom. The ushers were Paul Mayne, Guelph, a brother of the groom; Tom Simpson, Toronto, a friend of the groom; Jeff Tyndall, Clinton, brother of the bride. • Following the wedding ceremony a dinner and reception were held at the White Carnation. For the occasion the bride's mother wore a floor length, burgundy gown with a gardenia corsage. The groom's mother wore a floor -length, peri winkle blue gown with a gar- denia corsage. Guests attending the wedding who travelled from a distance came from Edmonton, St. Catharines, Toronto, Stayner, Guelph and London. The bridal couple left on a honeymoon to Cape Cod before settling into their Don Mills residence. Prior to the wedding the bride was honored at a number of showers. They included: the home of Mrs. Donna Tyndall, Clinton.; Mrs. Elaine Mayne, Drayton; Mrs. Bill Jenkins, Clinton; Mrs. Jo -Anne Cantelon and Mrs. Louise McGregor at the home of Mrs. Doug Snell. Seals and diplomas were given out at St. Andrew's Church .on September 24. Mrs. Harold Jones and Mrs. Tom Reid were the delegates from St. Andrew's to work in the hospitality tent of the United Church at the '" Plowing Match. Mr. and Mrs. Art Wheeler and John Wheeler, ' Clarkson, visited over the weekend with friends in the area. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Jones, Hillier, Ont. called on Mr. and Mrs. Harold Jones and Mr. and Mrs. Grant Jones while enroute to ,the Inter- national Plowing Match. Mrs. Vern Alderdice and Mrs. Robert Kin- sman assisted in the Ladies program tent at the International Plowing Match on Tuesday, September 26. Throughout its 60 years, the organization has steadily expanded the services which it provides for blind per- sons. For example, as a result of a survey of the CNIB National News - a news leaflet for yersons with impaired vision - this publication will now appear in large type. In the first issue, samples of four different sizes and styles of type were shown, and readers were asked to indicate their preference, and advise the CNIB of their choice. The results of this survey will help the printers in their final selection of the type for this publication. .In Clinton and the turrounding area, the .annual fund-raising campaign for CNIB for 1978 will take place during the third and fourth weeks of October. On October 17, the Clinton Kinsmen will carry out their part of the canvass, and on October 24, the Clinton,. Lions Club members hope to com- plete the canvass. The CNIB is deeply indebted to these two service clubs for their assistance in previous campaigns and anticipates a generous response to the can- vassers for the Golden Jubilee campaign.
