winner of the $1,000
preferred pace at Clinton
Kinsmen Raceway on
Sunday, October 1.
Driver Dennis Jewitt led
all the way in the 2:07
mile to defeat Lady
Samantha with Terry
Kerr up, who finished
second, followed by Mark
Williams with Lyragem.
Keith Graham was fourth
again with Puppet Boy.
Dennis Jewitt received
a beautiful Speidel
Digital Watch (valued at
$195) which was donated
by Sheaffer-Eaton of
Goderich and was
presented to the winning
driver by Anstett
Jewellers, Clinton.
Knight A Gone had his
third win of the year in
the ninth for partners
John Morrissey of Grand
Bend and Stewart McCall
of Walton with Jim
Wallace on the bike. A
blanket was presented to
the winning horse by
Wilson Harness Shop.'
Dennis Jewitt was second
with Bold Tar Heel for
owner Frank Stroop of
Fordwich.
Frank MacDonald
drove Hullet Rose to a
third place spot for
trainer Walter Oster of
Clinton and Ed Bezaire of
Seaforth.
Let Me By, a four-year-
old mare by Chilly Will -
Woodys Hope, owned by
Rose Travis of Goderich,
was a winner in 2:14 in
her first lifetime start.
She was driven by her
trainer Charles Travis.
Gord Pullman finished
third with Alonzo Adios
which he co-owns with
Jack McIlwain of
Seaforth. Bill Caldwell of
Clinton was fourth with
Conray Jack for owner
Charles Brindley of
Goderich.
Gerry Roebuck of
Goderich drove Mikes
Jimmy Lynn to his ninth
victory. from 17 starts this
year for owner Fred
McCutcheon of St.
Thomas, timed in 2:13.1.
Ron Williamson was
fourth with Sandys
Melody for Robert J.
Doig of Seaforth.
Randy Henry drove
Crimson Josie to a third
spot in the fifth for owner
Bruce Volland of
Goderich. From 32 starts
this year the nine-year-
old: mare has six wins,
seven seconds and seven
thirds, for earhings of
$4,018.

the bike in the 2:10 mile.

On the final day of
racing for this year,
blankets were presented
to the winning horses in
the first eight races by
the Kinsmen Club of
Clinton.
Gordon Powell of
Auburn was the lucky
winner this week in the
free draw for a Bulova
watch, courtesy of
Anstett Jewellers Ltd. of
Clinton.
At Flamboro Downs on
September 27, Randy
McLean won the second
race with Shar Mel in 2: 07
for owners Ray and
Larry. , Jeffrey of
Goderich. He was fourth
with Jivas Rick for Les
Reid of Londesboro in the
first. The following night

At Hanover on
Saturday night, Randy

Western Fair Raceway
in London will resume
racing this Saturday,
October 7 at 1:15 p.m.
There will be races on
Monday, Wednesday and
Friday nights as well as
Saturday afternoon
during the Fall meeting.

McKillop Township
Council accepted two
tenders for snowplowing
township roads Monday
at a meeting in Winthrop.
Machatl Construction will
use a 180 horse power
grader at $23 per hour,
and $18 per day standby
The Stanley Township pee wee boys team won the
inter -township baseball championship this sum-
