Clinton council briefs At their regular council meeting Monday night, Clinton town council approved a bylaw to make seniors housing apartments open on a countywide basis,after. an agreement had been reached with all the surrounding townships. Clerk Proctor said that 35 people had indicated interest in senior apar- tments, so a third unit may be built in town in the near fuitiure.- + ++ M & S Janitorial Ser- vices were hired on a monthly basis to clean the town hall, police station, and library at a cost of $580 per month. It was an invited tender. + ++ Council took the first step in rezoning two pieces of land when they passed a bylaw changing a 1,000 -foot strip on the Base Line from holding to residential, and a triangle piece of land on King and James from residential to apartment. + ++ Public works employee Gordon Tait was promoted to a class "B" rating, and council will pay for part of the cost of cleaning up the privately owned Doherty pond on East Street. -I- Council Council concurred with a resolution from the town of Trenton that municipal provincial and federal authorities meet over the problem of in- creasing vandalism, and learned the police dispatch committee will meet in Exeter on October 10. +++ Council recommended to committee of ad- justment that severance be approved for John Rosenlundr on James and Maria Street, and learned that severance had been granted to John and George Lavis for a piece of land bounded by Isaac and King streets.
