September 6 gqt the new
season off to a kood start

President Mary Grigg
conducted the business
meeting which followed.
Annual reports read by
treasurer Cecilia Edgar,
secretary Muriel Jones,
flower and card convener
Jean Johns and Star
membership convener
Ottilie Rowden, showed a
very busy and successful
year. The visiting
committee and others
reported many house
calls, hospital calls and
Huronview calls made
during the summer. Two
of our former members
Roy and Phyllis Connell
are now residents at
Huronview.
A letter from the
Clinton Recreation
Committee requesting a
donation toward the
installation of a new ice
surface at the arena was
ordered filed for the
present as we understand
a blanket canvas of the
town will be made. The
president announced a
tea and demonstration of
aids and equipment will
be held by the CNIB at
the Orange Hall Sep-
tember 14, 1-4:30 p.m.
A telephone committee
was appointed to aid the
President whenever
necessary - its members
Vera Gibbings, Muriel
Grigg and Alice Lawson.
In place of regular roll
call, 42 members paid
their annual $1 mem-
bership fee and received
their membership cards.
Two guests of the
Rowdens spent the
evening with members.
John Deeves, the
delegate to the Provincial
USCO Conference at
Kingston August 14-16,
gave a very interesting
and informative report.

TRUTH
The Bible teaches that three persons constitute the
Godhead and clearly distinguishes the three.
One of those Persons is designated in the New
Testament as "the Father." He is referred to as "The
Father -of spirits" in Hebrews 12:9. In Ephesians 5:20
we read, "Giving thanks always for all things unto God
and the Father." The Lord Jesus Christ said, "I ascend
unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God and
your God." John 20:18.
Another Person of the divine trinity is called the Son of
God. In many ways His full deity is declared and
demonstrated in the Bible. In the Old Testament when
His birth was prophesied, it was also declared that His
name would be called "The mighty .God," Isaiah 9:6.
An example in the New Testament is in I Timothy 2:10
where He is called "God our Saviour." See also verse
13
The other Person of the Trinity is the Holy Spirit. He is
called God in Acts 5:3,4. He has the qualities of God, I
Corinthians 2:9-11. He performs the works of God. Acts
20:28.
All three Persons are grouped together and named
separately in Matthew 28:19, "baptizing them in the
name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy
Spirit," and also in II Corinthians 13:14.
