The Seaforth PUC is
presently studying a new
schedule • for town
residents who are being
charged for filling
swimming pools.
The Huron Expositor
reported that town of-
ficials aired some
complaints that it didn't
seem reasonable for the
PUC to charge a 20 per
cent profit on top of the
charge of the wages for
the PUC employee who
supervised the filling,
plus a charge for the PUC
truck . and metering to
establish the amount of
water used.
Chairman Gordon
Pullman said, "that
sounds like robbery to the
average person, no
businessmen on Main
Street could do business
oharging like this."
Although PUC
manager Tom Phillips
felt it was reasonable, he
was instructed to revise
the fee according to the
size of the pool so that an
applicant would know.
what to expect in the way
of charges. Out of town
applicants will continue
to be charged double for
the fee charged to
Seaforth residents.
It was reported in the

compared with 9,146
hours a year ago. The five
county high schools were
in use for 5,244 of those
hours while community
hours at the public
schools came to 5,069.
Although the strike is
over, production is still
behind at the Fleck
Manufacturingplant in
Huron Park.
According to the
Exeter Times -Advocate,
there are no striking
workers on the produc-
tion line yet and it will be
about three weeks before
any of them return.
As well, it is unlikely
that it will be some time
before the plant reaches
its pre -strike production
level. Sales orders and
contracts were lost
during the 163(day strike.
Music and happiness
will be flowing in Kin-
cardine this past
weekend when third
annual bluegrass festival
will have taken place.
The Kincardine News
reported on the upcoming
three-day event which
was to feature five top
bluegrass bands.
Some 300 camp sites
were set up to house the
overnight listeners. on the
festival's grounds at
Connaught Park. The
event was to be held
either rain or shine.
