Breed sanction match set
The Bluewater Kennel
Club is holding an all
breed sanction match at
the Bluewater Centre
south of Goderich on
Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m.
It is expected that there
will be at least 200 dogs of
all breeds at the match.
Anyone wishing to enter
his dog can register from
10 a.m. on. The dogs must
be purebrgd and
registered.
The show is open to the
public free of , charge.
Some of the residents at
the Centre will be helping
with the show and the
Volunteer Association
will run a refreshment
booth. The Gift Shop in
the canteen will be open
as well.
Bill Armstrong, public
relations director for the
Club, says the purpose of
the match is two fold -- to ,
raise money for the Club
and to give recognition
to the Centre itself. He.
says the Centre's
facilities should be used
by the community more.
The match is a joint effort
between the Club and the
Centre, says Mr. Arm-
strong. It's the first time
something like this has
been done and it is hoped
that more will be held in
the future.
The Bluewater Kennel
Club has about 25
members 'who meet
monthly at St. Mary's
Separate School in
Goderich. One of the
members is a worker at
the Bluewater Centre and
that's how .the other
members got interested
in the Centre. They have
held several -fun days
there for the residents
with their dogs.

This week at the Legion
By Rene Brochu
Back from a short
week's holidays, lets
catch up on the Legions
happenings.
Those of you who were
present need not be
reminded of the splendid
enjoyable time that the
associates put on for us at
the barbecue and dance
held August 4. They
certainly can wear their
"associate hats" proudly.
There were so many
Associates hold
willing helping hands
when they were needed
that we regulars could
learn a lesson from them.
Yes, a good part of the
preparatory work was
done by a few, but on the
whole, all
associates who
participated can be justly
proud of a job well done.
So, Dave, your devotion
and determination has
paid off as you and your
committee can feel justly
