Many interesting ac- tivities have been pia ned to delight the young and old. The fair will com- mence with a children's parade at noon. Any business or organization in the Tuckersmith Twp, is invited to join in the parade. Activities include: a frog derby at 1 p.m.; net show, 2 p.m.' baby con- test, 3 p.m.; Booths and games will open at noon hour as well. To finish off the day, a teen dance to be held from 7-10 p.m. has been planned, featuring the band "Drumheller". Many thanks to Koma Boats, Base Factory Outlet, Runsal Enter- prises, Sandpiper Inn, Recreation Centre, Lions Club, the Christian Church, the Community Association, the Vanastra Nursery School, the Teen Club, Young Canada Works Project, Tuckersmith Township Council and all other participants for their continuous support. Sharon's recipe corner Here are a couple of ideas to keep those little ones busy during the summer, or on rainy days. Play Dough 2 cups flour 1 cup salt 3/ cup lukewarm water 1 tbsp. olive oil food coloring. Mix flour and salt together. Add coloring and olive oil to water and gradually add to dry 111 ingredients. Mix and knead well. Dough can be • kept for several weeks in a plastic bag. Finger Paints 1/2 cup packaged laundry starch 3/ cup cold water 1 envelope plain gelatin 1/4 cup water 2 cups boiling water 1/2 cup mild soap flakes or synthetic detergent. Combine starch and cold water. Add 2 cups boiling water and cook over medium heat until mixture comes to a boil and is clear. The new adventure playground at the Clinton Conservation Area is being well used, as these youngsters showed last week. I looked , at the crocodile and the deers, Stephen Jeacock and Wayne Gale recently went to Port Elgin Summer Games with the Clinton pee wee soccer teams and won their gold medals. Tony Jeacock helped to coach the team and also received a gold medal. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Ryan and family have returned home after 'a trip to Cape Breton Island. Big Brothers meeting A Clinton and Vanastra and District Big Brothers Association has been formed. There will be a public meeting on Monday, August 21 at the Clinton Town Hall at 8 p.m. to discuss the association. On Monday and Tuesday, August 21 and 22 there will be no program in the playground. Mr. Douglas McBeath and family have been visiting with Mrs. Pearl McBeath. Relatives from Holland are visiting with, Mar. and Mrs. Fred Zwaan. Enjoying a campout for a few days were, Sandra McGregor, Vicki and Shelly Horner, Bonnie Dowson, Mary Holmes, Karen Erb, Mary Ann Momersteeg and Deanna Finch. Many folks from the area attended the wed- ding of Gwen Hendrick and Bill Davis and en- joyed the reception at fine Ridge Chalet near Hensall. Mr. and Mrs. John Moffat and family travelled to Northern Ontario, crossing with the Chi-Cheemaun and toured the Collingwood area. The ladies of the UCW are taking the tuck cart at Clinton Public Hospital, every Tuesday and Friday for the month of August. The 4-H Beef Calf Club held their fun night on Friday August 11 with a ball game and completed the evening with a wiener roast at the home of their leader Mrs. Beth Cooper. Payne ' The Volland reunion was held in Harbour Park, - Goderich on Sunday August 13 with approximately 35 people present. Races were held andfor children and adults a prize was eiven for the oldest person present and won by Mrs. Elizabeth Volland' of Hensall, :aged 95.
