(Standard photo) Goderich lady wins at bingo Lorene Robinson of Goderich was the top prize winner at the Clinton Monster Bingo On „ ,Monday night when she took the $1,000 jackpot. Some 312 people played for fun and profit and Marlene Britton of Seaforth took the $166.50 special. A second special of $154 was won by Marion Sproul of Auburn and Douglas Leibold of Clinton pocketed the third special of $150.50. Ken Sheafer, Mitchell; Margaret This week at the Legion by Rene Brochu Last Tuesday evening the Legion played host to the Clinton Public school grade eight graduation class as the Ladies Auxiliary prepared and served another delicious roast beef dinner. The graduates were accompanied by their parents and teachers which made ' a goodly number of about 200 people in attendance. Thanks to the ladies and the men whn ftirnorl nut- tn lend a helping hand. As "Canada Day" went by, I watched many areas on TV who had a Canada Day parade • or celebration, I couldn't help but wonder why our town and service clubs couldn't get together this year and plan some kind of event for nekt 'year's Canada Day. It could be one method of exem- plifying and promoting national unity for our, country. It is a subject which we hear much about and talk much about but never seem to put our thoughts and words into concrete action. Your comments, please! Wm. Bennett. Timothy's godparents are Harvey and Brenda Cleave, and after the service the family gathered at the home of Edward and Lois Wise for a special.dinner. Holy communion was celebrated in St. James on Sunday morning as well. Lois Wise read the Epistle while Dean Aldwinkle and Edward Wise received the of- fering. Just a reminder, so you don't forget, the yard sale's at St. James on July 8 at 1 p.m. Personals Our congratulations to Don and Audrey Mid- dleton on their 26th wedding axiniversary. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Hulls and sons of Cornwall spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Dutot and visited relatives in ...the area. • Fred Dutpt waa_ off again to a tractor pull in Auburn over the weekend. He did very. well, taking a first and third prize. • The ladies of St.James Church are retnincled that the quilt is ready for quilting at Delores Dutot's. A draw is to be made on this quilt in September. Tickets are available from members of the ACW. Jake and Fay Stryker and their sister-in-law, Jannie Wiersma of the Netherlands have returned home from a holiday in Western Canada where they visited with relatives and friends in Spring Cauiee and the Peace River area in Alberta. It was nice for Jannie to see her brother -in-laws again after 25 years. They also enjoyed seeing the Rocky Mountains and the 'beautiful scenery in the Northern part of Alberta.
