green dress with a
matching cape. Both
wore daisy corsages.
The maid of honour was
Elizabeth Gibsori and the
bridesmaids were
Darlene Carnochan,
Carol Jewitt and Debbie
McClure. Flower girl was
Kerri Szusz and ring
bearer was Scott Jewitt.
The girls dressed in
'identical blue sparkle
knit gowns carried
baskets of dried and silk
white and yellow daisies
and blue baby's breath.
The best man was Bob
Szusz and the ushers
were Ross Jewitt, Paul
Gibson and John Gibson.
A reception followed at
the Blyth Community
Centre.

Ontario St. UCW plan "summer bake fest"
The evening unit of
Ontario Street United
Church Women met at
• the home of Phyllis
Tyndall on June 26, when
Phyllis opened the
Meeting with a poem "If
God Went On Strike".
Nancy Turner's group
were in charge, and Edith
Weight gave a reading
followed by the scripture
and prayer by Isabel
Colson.
Nancy Turner had a
reading and a hymn was
sung accompanied by
Gladys Van Egmond ,on
her accordion. Bonnie
and Barry Turner sang
several song*, and
Gladys Van Egmond
played two selections on
her accordion. Edith
Wright gave another
reading "An Invitation to
Church."
The roll call was taken
with 24 members present.
The thank -you notes were
read and the treasurer's
report was given by
Gwen Lavis. It was
decided to have a
"summer .&bake fest" at
the Ontario Street Church
Hall on Friday August 18
from 2 to 4' pm to sell
baking and produce and
the ladies will service
coffee and donuts.
An invitation. to attend
the Londesboro manse
100th anniversary tea
was accepted, and
August 22 is visiting day
at Alma College in St.
Thomas, The afternoon
Unit bus trip is Sep-
tember 5.
A meeting is being held
on September 7 'to plan
for the bazaar. Gwen
Lavis and Eileen Potter
are on this committee.
Phyllis Tyndall volun-
teered to make some
curtains for the bathroom
in the vestry. The annual
pork barbecue for
Ontario Street Church is
going to be held the first
Wednesday in •October
(October 4).
The next meeting is
September 25 with group

The North Street
United Church, Goderich,
held their annual picnic
for Seniors *at the 'United
Church Camp last week.
The Huronyiew residents

music for Monday's
program at Huronview.
The Clinton Christian
Reform Volunteers
assisted with activities.
The Huronia Singers, a
mixed choir of 30 voices
from the Exeter area,
entertained at Huronview
on Family Night. Mrs.
McAffrey directs the
choir and Julie Easter -
brook plays the piano
accompaniment. The
residents enjoyed the
familiar numbers from
some of the musicals
including, "Sound of

dies
Mrs. Catherine M. Jones
Mrs. Irene* Jones of
King Street Villa, Clinton,
passed away at Victoria
Hospital, London on
Saturday, July 1, 1978.
Mrs. Jones came to
Clinton in 1971 with her
husband, J.H. (Jack)
Jones, who predeceased
her in 1972. She is sur-
vived by one brother,
Robert Gibb of Clinton.
Born in Wishaw,
Scotland, the daughter of
the late Robert and
Margaret Gibb, she came
to Canada at an early age
making -her home first in
Ottawa and following her
marriage in Toronto,
• then in Clinton.
McAffrey entertai-ned
with vocal solos and
duets. Cecil Skinner
expressed the ap-
preciation of the
residents.
Mr. Ed. Stiles of
Goderich played an hour
of organ music in the
Chapel at Huronview on
Wednesday afternoon.
Mrs. Elsie Henderson
and Cecil Skinner en-
tertained the Senior
members of the Goderich
Baptist Church on
Thursday afternoon.
Seventeen Huronview
residents, who were
formerly, from Goderich,
accepted the invitation to
attend the Founders' Day
• celebration in Goderich
on Thursday. The Maple
Leaf Chapter, I.O.D.E.
made the arrangements
for parking and the,
chairs and.were also the
hosts for the hospitality
booth.

The bride, escorted to
the groom's side by her
father, was dressed in a
long white fitted jersey
gown with a- flowing
train. The bodice and cap
sleeves were edged with
sculptured silk -twist lace
over a sheer yolk
featuring 'a scooped
neckline which framed a
heart -shaped diamond
pendant, a_ gift from the
groom. She carried' a
cascading bouquet of
miniature pink -
variegated carnatiOns,
white spider mums and
white babies breath. Her
two layered scalloped
veil was held irrplace by a
wax headpiece, which is a
third generation keep-
sake, worn by her
grandmother in 1926 and
her•mother in 1955.
Matron of honor was
Mrs. Joan Brown RR 3
Monkton, friend of the
bride and sister-in-law of
the groom. The
bridesmaids were, Miss
Rosemary Brown, sister
of the groom and Miss
Laura Cantelon, sister of
the bride. All were
dressed in identical
dusty -rose jersey gowns
with shoe -string, crossed
straps and tucked
bodices, topped with

each girl was a matching

carnations, white spider
mums, blue babies'
breath and blue velvet
streamers.

After the ceremony, the
bridal party and their
guests proceeded to the
Vanastra Recreation

roses, and the groom§

muted grey and pink with
a corsage of pink roses.

Prior to her marriage,
