Another special oc-
casion took place in the
Legion this past weekend
when Madelaine and
George Yeats celebrated
their 35th wedding an-
niversary. The ladies
were all splendidly at-
tired in beautiful gowns,
especially Madelaine,
guest of honor. Abiding
by age old traditions of
the Scots, many of the
men, including honored
guest Comrade George,
wore the decorative dress
with kilts.
Cocktails were served
prior to the dinner as the
couple of honor greeted
the guests as they arrived
with gifts and best wishes
for the delightful couple.
Guests were present from
many places including
Scotland, England,
Detroit, Windsor, Los
Angeles, Ottawa and
many other points in
Canada.
The head table was
piped into position by
piper John Stevely. The
gathering was led in
grace by Don Armstrong
and the Ladies Auxiliary
served a delicious roast
beef dinner. Son, Graham
Yeats was the master of
ceremonies and also
organizer of the occasion
ably assisted by daughter
