Another special oc- casion took place in the Legion this past weekend when Madelaine and George Yeats celebrated their 35th wedding an- niversary. The ladies were all splendidly at- tired in beautiful gowns, especially Madelaine, guest of honor. Abiding by age old traditions of the Scots, many of the men, including honored guest Comrade George, wore the decorative dress with kilts. Cocktails were served prior to the dinner as the couple of honor greeted the guests as they arrived with gifts and best wishes for the delightful couple. Guests were present from many places including Scotland, England, Detroit, Windsor, Los Angeles, Ottawa and many other points in Canada. The head table was piped into position by piper John Stevely. The gathering was led in grace by Don Armstrong and the Ladies Auxiliary served a delicious roast beef dinner. Son, Graham Yeats was the master of ceremonies and also organizer of the occasion ably assisted by daughter Gwen. Ralph Totten of Blyth season begins The 1978 season opens at the Blyth Summer Festival on July 7th, with "The Huron Tiger". Written by London's Peter Colley, this often - hilarious play brings to life the legend. of the outrageously eccentric founder of Goderich, Tiger Dunlop. Curtain time is 8:30 p.m., on July 7 and will be preceeded by a special hot turkey supper in the Blyth Memorial Hall at 6 p.m. The cost of the supper is $4.50, and reservations must be made before July 4, as places are limited. A demonstration of square deances will be presented following the show. Piper Stevely provided the intermission en- tertainment and groups of people performed traditional Scottish dances to the delight of friends and spectators.
