Thorne is playing the
role of John Galt's son in
the Festival's production
of The Huron Tiger which
opens July 7. Galt was
born in the town of Irvine
in Ayrshire and Thorne
would like to talk with
someone from that area,
preferably a male, in
order to pick up the
dialect and rhythm of

Reunion was held at the
Clinton Conservation
Area on Saturday, June

Country Singles pack hall

Last Saturday evening,
we were once again
pleased to have the
Country Singles Club
members at a dance in
the auditorium. The
music was supplied by
"The Blenders" and the
dance floor was kept
crowded at every dance.
A wholesome lunch was
prepared and served by
the Directors Betty
Cardno, Irene Okahashi,
and Vicki Horbaniuk.
Four birthdays were
celebrated during the
evening by Bill Reid,
Marie Colcloug'h, Vicki
Horbaniuk and
"Swinging" Carl "The
Popular".
This, was another
financially successful
function in the Legion
thanks ' to the ever
popular Country Singles
Club and their ever
growing membership.
Our

bar and seeing to the
needs of the Country
Singles Club directors.
At last word received
by the Legion, our two
delegates have arrived at

Marlene Ann Cun-
ningham, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. James M.
Cunningham of Clinton
graduated on June 2, 1978
with a Bachelor of
Physical Education with
distinction from the
Brock University in St.
Catharines. Presently
she is working with
Learning Disabled
children for the
Psychology Department
at Brock University.

few already familiar.
Designer Pat Flood has
an impressive list of
credits, including
Theatre Calgary,
Tarragon Theatre, the
National Arts Centre,
Theatre Passe Muraitle,
St. Lawrence Centre,
Royal Winnipeg Ballet,
and the Stratford
Festival.
Terence Durrant came
to Canada from England
in 1973, and has since
worked with C.B.C. (both
television and radio),
O.E.C.A., along with
theatre work in both the
acting and direction
areas.
Steven Thorne is a
graduate of .York
University in Toronto,
whose credits include the
Orillia Playhouse, Studio
Lab Theatre in Sudbury,
Barrie's Georgian
Theatre, and Little Hill
Players, and he has
toured with the Ontario
Youtheatre.
Other members of the
company include Chris
Kelk from Hamilton,
Elizabeth Hanna , from
Ottawa, Keith Knight
from Sault Ste. Marie,
Barbara Snaith, Heather
Ritchie. Peter Snell,
Karen Wiens. Tom
Mcamus from London
and David .tti..rby, and
Kate Trotter, who ap-
peared at Blyth last year.
The stage managers
are Ron Ferguson, an
original member of the
Blyth Summer Festival,
and S. Tigger Jourard.'
The season opens on
July 7, with Huron Tiger.

eccentric founder of the

Odd Couple cast
James Murphy, artistic
director for the Huron
Country Playhouse, has
announced the supporting
cast for its opening
production, "The Odd
Couple", starring Jack
Duffy and Leslie Carlson.
Ann de Villiers,
returning to the
Playhouse for her third
season, and Marion
Gilsenan,. a well known
Toronto actress making
her first Playhouse ap-
pearance, will play the
Pigeon sisters, two
swinging British
divorcees. Alden Jones,
last seen at the Playhouse
in "Babes in Arms" is
Speed, a nervous New
Yorker with a passion for
poker.
The policeman,
Murray, will be played by
Keith James, making his
professional debut at the
Playhouse. Stan Lacey, a
rough and tumble saga of
-the wild days 'sof the
Canada Company and the
settlement of Ontario.
Peter Colley of London,
Ontario, author of "The
Donnellys", brings the
legend of Tiger Dunlop to
life in this often hilarious
play about the gigantic
Scot with the firey
temperment and blazing
wit. After opening up the
wilderness. Dunlop
became the champion of
the settlers and fought for
their rights in the rip
roaring election cam-
paigns of pioneer politics.
His stormy career made
him one of the most
colorful M.P.s in
Canadian history -known
throughout the Dominion
as the Huron Tiger.
After opening on July 7,
the Huron Tiger will play
.July 8, 13, 14, 18, 19, 20, 22,
24, 27, 28 and August 2, 10,
18, 24 and 26. All plays
will be performed at 8:30
p.m. except for 2 p.m.
matinees on July 20 and
August 24.
