Spring Fair still attracts people by the thousands

Young and old alike all took part in the Clinton Spring Fair parade on Saturday
afternoon. The youngsters from the Clinton Nursery School were no exception
and really seemed to be enjoying their ride from the Legion to the fairgrounds
in an assortment of cardboard boxes. (News -Record photo)

These wide-eyed youngsters were chosen as the four , Jim and Theresa Hickey, RR 2, Brussels; third prize
top babies at the Clinton fair's baby show for those Christopher seven months, son of Jim and Lois Fit -
seven months to a year old. First prize went to Karey, zgerald, Clinton and fourth prize winner was Gebadia,
10 months, daughter of Larry and Dianne McGregor, 10 months, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Havercamp,

The Ferris wheel seemed to bring a number of different reactions from people.
The girl on the left has obviously been on the ride before. The centre girl is
really excited about her first trip up and the fellow on the right, well he'd been

The past and the present was the theme of the Clinton Ladies Hospital
Auxiliary booth at the Clinton Spring Fair last weekend. Scrapbooks with
clippings of past events told of the hospital's history and candy stripers toured
the fairgrounds reminded everyone of the present. (News -Record photo)
Mrs. Shirley Cooper of RR 3, Exeter had her hands
full while judging the sewing classes at the Clinton
Spring Fair last Friday afternoon. The number of
exhibitors was down, especially in the domestic

Good balance and control of the reins along with a
co-operative horse will get any rider through a
barrel race. Unfortunately, the three are not an
easy combination to put together successfully.
Although some sent the barrels flying, all the
competitors and the audience enjoyed the Western
Games at the Clinton fair on Sunday afternoon.
