UCW meets
Combining both the
devotional and study,
Mrs. Nan Britton spoke
about the changing
conditions of life in the
west from when she was a
child to the present day at
the June meeting of Unit
four of the Hensall UCW.
She took as her motto,
"Horizons are greater
than fences" and
reminded all of the many
trials that the early
settlers had to put up
with. She also told of the
love and kindness of the
neighbours and how in
today's society, all this
seems to be lost. Her talk
concluded with a prayer
for all people in a
disturbed world.
Unit leader, Mrs.
Jessie McAllister,
presided and opened• the
meeting by reading from
the Upper Room, based
on "Then Job arose and

When my father opened up the envelope
containing his pension cheque there was also
another one inside, made out for someone else.
sent it on to this person and explained what had
happened, now friends tell me that it's against
the law to re -forward government mail. Is this
true?
Government cheques are supposed to be
returned to the sending office, because if the
person expecting the cheque has already
reported its non arrival, then a duplicate one has
to be processed and sent. This could cause quite
a mix up, particularly if both were cashed.
The reason that this type of mistake does
sometimes occur is due to the fact, that if two
cheques are stuck together a machine
automatically puts them in the same envelope.

Can IMPACT help me please?
As the owner of a small business I have just
discovered that I have authorized an ad to go in
the "Yellow directory". I originally thought that
this was the Bell Yellow Pages, but now I'm
wondering if this "Yellow Directory" is on the
"up and up."
Any information that you can give me will be.
greatly appreciated, thank you.
Presumably the "Yellow Directory" to which
you refer, is the Yellow Directory of Canada. As
far as we know the firm is quite authentic with
their head office located in Oshawa. Their sales
manager is John Neil.
Another apparently legitimate advertising
directory is known as Kelly's Yellow Card
Directory which is a division of Researched
Advertising Inc of Cambridge, Ontario.
