been arranged for July
26.
A tree committee of

Charlie Cook were ap-
pointed to work with the
town council in arranging
for trees to be set out to
replace the trees that
have been cut down
throughout town.
Fifty `dollars was voted
as our share in setting up
the horticultural displays
for the coming plowing
match. A student has
been hired to help with
the horticultural gardens.

No chargees on pick-up
years. He brought boxes
of plants and showed how
easily cutting can be
taken and started in peat
moss ar,td perlite. Two or
three boxes can be
started from your
original box, so it makes
for cheap garden plants
and plenty to share with
your neighbour.
He also showed how
trees can easily be grown
drom seed. Put a seed in
amp sand in plastic hap
in October in
refrigerator. In January
bring your seed out into
warmer temperature,
and it will sprout. Plant in
a pot, cover with plastic
and be pleased with your
own home grown tree. He
showed different sized
bottles with growing
gardens, and explained
how easily they can be
started.
Mr. Howard has been
working for 17 years with
older people in hospitals
and handicapped
children, and they are
such apt pupils in lear-
ning to grow gardens.
These people are cap-
tured like plants in a
bottle, but love to be
shown how to do things
and poor crippled hands
often accomplish more
than healthy hands and
minds.
Mr. Howard showed
slides, showing gardens
etc., made by his han-
dicapped classes and
results were beautiful.
Dor$thy Marquis
graciously thanked Mr.
Howard , for sharing his
keen interest and his wide
knowledge with us.
Door prizes were
drawn and the winners
were: Mrs. Harry Ball,
Mrs. Victor Taylor, Mrs.
C. Van Damme, Mrs.
Bu -shy and Mrs. P.
Livermore.
