Information on the costs, construction, faults and hopefully im- provements of solar heating were explained to the groups. An invitation is ex- tended to attend morning worship in St. Andrews United Church on Sunday morning, June 11 when the entire service will be provided by the Kingsway Lampton Church Junior Choir of Toronto. Mr. and Mrs. George Lindsay of Fredricton, N.B. returned to their home on Sunday after spending a week with George's parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Lindsay, The U.C.W's of St. Andrew's United Church held a very successful bake sale on the lawn at the home of Ruth Makins. Despite the rain' on Saturday, May 20, there was a good turnout Scouts enjoy camping Scouters John Siert- sema and David Renner along with all but one member of the Bayfield Boy Scouts enjoyed a weekend Camp out at Point Farms Provincial Park north of Goderich. The trophy won by Bayfield last year at the Camporee was won this year by the Exeter Boy Scouts after a close race between the two troups. The boys also slept in the three new tents purchased by them from monies they had earned. Middleton ACWneed support by Blanche Deeves Up coming "operation Haiti" special project of the diocese, and is sup- ported by the ACW. An audio visual has been prepared and will be shown for all members of the ACW in the Parish, Wednesday June 7 at 8 p.m. with Miss Rees as guest. Church news Evening prayer was held in St. James Anglican Church Sunday morning. The flowers on the altar were placed by Blanche Deeves and family in memory of the late Alice Allen: Scrip- ture was read by Sarah Storey, and the offering was received by James Storey and Edward Deeves. Rev. Wm. Bennett was in charge of the service. Lisa and Billy Storey spent a most enjoyable day on Saturday when they 'travelled to London to attend the 4th annual children's festival with the theme being based on the colours of the Rainbow, at - St. Pauls Cathedral. Personals Congratulations to Dick and Helen Steenstra and Myra on the arrival Sunday of a baby girl. Rev. Wm. Bennett has been installed for another year as Padre of the Canadian Legion Branch 140. Marnie Middleton was home from Kitchener on the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Beecher Menzies of Clinton and Mr. and Mrs. Ross Kaiser of Lambeth were Sunday guests of Stewart Mid- dleton. The new officers of the Clinton Legion were Installed Monday night. In excess of $350 was realized and the Kinettes would like to thank everybody who contributed to this effort. The next rummage sale will be in the fall. Church news Guest preacher at the Hensall United Church's 130th Anniversary on Sorority welcomes new member Xi Epsilon Beta Chapter welcomed a new member into Beta Sigma Phi as the last meeting of the Sorority year, May 23. Rekha Kalokhe received her Pledge Pin and a yellow rose, the flower of Beta Sigma Phi, in a candlelight ritual at the home of Vivienne Roy. Sunday was Rev. L.T.G. Harbour, executive secretary of London Conference. In that capacity, he brought greetings from both the London Conference and the General Council of the United Church of Canada. Preaching on "The strong and the resolute" he spoke of the followers of Christ who start off on the Christian life and then let other things take precedence. Adding to the uplift of the service were the beautiful contributions of the Huronia Singers under the direction of Mrs. Marianne McCaf- frey. Their numbers included, "This land is your land," "The im- possible dream," "Climb every mountain" and a lovely choral response sung after the benedic- tion. Pianist for the songs was Mrs. Julie Easterbrook. Dr. Ralph Topp also contributed a prelude to the service, playing Sonata for piano by Beethoven, opus 14, number one. Following the service, a social hour was enjoyed by the congregation, giving them a chance to meet_. Rev. Harbour personally.
