This week at the Legion By Rene Brochu Another successful TGIF night was held last Friday night with a good cheerful and friendly group gathered for relaxation, the sing -song was especially enjoyable as John and company led the singing. The name of Bob Mann was drawn for the attendance draw, but alas, he hadn't registered and so the pot grows. Saturday evening saw Comrade Harvey Hayter and his entertainment committee put on another social. Low and behold only about 20 couples showed up, for shame members; for your lack of support. The music was superb and those who did attend had an enjoyable evening. Carol McIntyre won the draw prize and went home with a wine hamper. It takes much time and effort on the part of the committee and Legion staff to prepare for these functions, so it is really disappointing to see such poor response, and disheartening that the members seem to lack the interest in Legion Comradeship. We shouldn't despair though, in June we have another chance to redeem our pride and sense of duty towards our Legion by attending the June social. This coming Thursday will mark the beginning of the end of this year's dart club ac- tivities, as competition commences for the trophies In the men's, ladies' and mixed categories. Best of success to all participants, and hope you will continue to patronize the Legion for friendly, leisurely dart games and social events. Equal rights for the sexes will be achieved only when some mediocre women oc- cupy high positions. Anyone interested in participating in a JUNIOR TALENT SHOW at Hensall Spring Fair June 20 Please Contac John Baker 262-3123 or Gladys McGregor 262-5839 before June 1 CLINTON AREA SCHOOLS arepro.ti, "An Evening of Music" WEDNESDAY, MAY 17 at 8:00 P.M. at C.H.S.S.
