Auburn girls receive special ale -H a Congratulations to Vickie Rodger on receiving her County Honors and Sherry Verbeek on receiving her Provincial Honors in their 4-11 work in Auburn. I with their leaders Mrs. Donald Cart- wright artwright and Mrs. John Hildebrand_ Mrs. Sheron Stadelmann of RR 2. Blyth, also a member of Auburn I, received her certificate and this completes 24 projects. The Achievement Day was held in Blyth last Saturday for the project. Focus on Living. BIRTHDAY COMMITTEE Don't forget, the planning meeting for Auburn's 125th ®birthday party next year (1979) is to be held on May 24 in the Community Memorial Hall at 8 p.m. It is hoped that all conveners and their members will 'be present to submit their plans. If this event is to be a success, it takes everyone working together to make this an event to be remembered_ LIONS CLUB Lion Fred Lawrence was in charge of the hi -weekly Lions Club meeting held in the Community Memorial Hall last Wednesday evening_ The dinner was served by the Women's Institute_ The secretary, Lion B Worsell, read the minutes of the last meeting and the Director's meeting. The financial statement was given by the treasurer, Lion James Schneider_ A donation was sent to the Blyth Figure Skating Club_ Lions Randy Mat-han and Stephen Campbell are taking over the bulletin editor duties. The Fund Raising Com- mittee reported that several projects are about to get underway. The Lions Club have decided to build new bleachers for the ball diamond_ An auction sale is to Gulden Radars to see Doon The Clinton Golden Radar Senior citizens' Club met in the town hall for their regular meeting Wed. evening, May 3, with president Mary Grigg in charge_ , After opening exercises and reading of secretary's and treasurer's reports, Alice Lawson reported for "flowers and cards". She had sent a carnation to Amber Popp. Edith Pickard and Mrs. Nivens, all in hospital and a sympathy card to Agnes Carbert after the sudden death of her husband_ The roll call was answered by 48 members; Mary Robertson joined as a new member; three visitors also were present John Deeves was appointed as delegate to represent the club at the U.S.C_O_ Con- vention in Kingston Aug. 14- 16_ A letter and brochure was read from the Blyth Summer Festival with information concerning prices, dates, names of plays and other entertainment being presented from July 7 to Sept 2. Members of the bus trip committee reported that a Murphy bus has been char- tered for May 25 and Doon Pioneer Village will be visited in addition to the African Lion Safari_ Any member wishing information may phone Hazel Parker 482-9568_ Saturday, June 10 was the date set for the garage sale being held by the Club, and more arrangements will be made by next meeting.
