After a delicious
smorgasbord supper at the
Londesboro Hall, served by
the Women's Institute,
trophies were presented for
the bow ling season.
Top team were the
Dreamers with 106 points.
Team members are Captain,
Ailene Salverda, Dorothy
Carter, Helen Wallace, Reino
Wilts, Lynda Kennedy and
Roxie Maize. Second place
went to the Ding Dongs with
96 points and team members
were Captain, June
Fothergill, Ann Overholt,
Delores Howatt, Gerrie
Kennedy, Marjorie McNall
and Sheila Kennedy. Then
came the Doolittles with 93
and the Dumbells with 83.
High average trophy was
presented to Dorothy Carter
with an average of 199. Penny
Overboe, who had not bowled
the complete year and did not
qualify for the T. B. Allen
trophy, received a trophy for
overall high average of 210.
Runner-up went to Ann
Overholt with an average of
193. The high single trophy
went to Reino Wilts with a 368
and runner-up was Delores
Howatt with a 327
The high triple trophy went
to Penny Overboe with 769,
while Florence Cartwright
was the' runner-up with 742.
Ann Overholt received the
trophy for the most improved
with a__ n average of 193...14
points over her last year's
average. Perfect attendance
glasses went to Dorothy
Carter, Reino Wilts, \
president, Dorothy Airdrie,
secretary, Marjorie McNall,
Gerrie Kennedy, Geraldine
Johnston and June Fothergill.
After presentation of the
trophies, the ladies went to
Clinton Bowling lanes for two
games of bowling. The, ladies
were split by averages into
couples. High couple went to
Mary Salverda and Dorothy
Airdrie with a four game total
of 876. Low team couple went
to Penny Overboe and Joyce
Vincent with a 597.
United Church news
Welcoming on Sunday
morning into the church were
Lorne Hunking and Ken
Pollard and the ushers were
Robert Hunking, Tom Pollard
and David Lear. Following
call to worship, a gospel
hymn sing was held with Mrs.
Ruth Shaddick choir leader
and Mrs. Louise McGregor,
organist. The choir anthem
was "consolation" with Ann
Snell taking the solo part.
Junior
teachers were Mrs. Mary
Peel and Mrs. Laura Scott.
Next Sunday will be
women's Sunday when Mrs.
Wattick will be guest
speaker. Berean Unit
meeting will be held on
Tuesday, May 9th at 8 p.m. in
the church with Aimwell
Unit as guests and Mrs. Lois
Hodgert, Seaforth will be
guest speaker and will show
pictures of their trip to Japan.
Village collects
for Cancer
June Fothergill and her
helpers, Nancy Allen, Shirley
Lyon and Geraldine Johnston
would like to thank the people
of Londesboro for their
generous donations totalling
$213.45 which is over $30 more
than last year and most since
1971 collection.

with a shower on Monday
night, April 24th at the home
of her aunt, Mrs. Ettie Hugill,
Clinton.
Mr. Jack Riley was a
patient in St. Joseph's
Hospital, London undergoing
surgery April 26th.
Mrs. Jack Riley spent
several days last week with
her niece Mr. and Mrs. Mike
Bannon, London.
Mr. and Mrs. Orville
Newby returned home on
Monday, April 24th from a 10 -
day holiday touring Southern
United States.
Mr. ands, Mrs. Ted
Fothergill and family at-
tended a supper honouring
her parents' 53rd wedding
anniversary, Mr. and Mrs.
Colonel Marks, held on
Saturday April 29 at the
Wallaceville Foresters' Hall.
Mr. and Mrs. Doug Rad-
ford, Dawn and Monica of
Niagara Falls spent Thur-
sday to Sunday with Mr. and
Mrs. Gordon Radford and Mr.
and Mrs. Jim Radford.
Mrs. Beverly Gall of
Toronto spent the weekend
with her parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Jack Lee.
Mr. and Mrs. Ken Wood,
Joanne, Janet, Karen and
Doug, Wingham visited on
Sunday with his parents Mr.
and Mrs. Edwin Wood.
The family of Mr. and Mrs.
Lorne Hunking spent Sunday
with them including: Mr. and
Mrs. Tom Duizer, Laurel,

Londesboro; Mr. and Mrs.

Mr. and Mrs. Boh Thom-
pson visited on Saturday.
April 22 with her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. William Hamilton,
