more
efficiently in far Tess time ... and
because it uses Tess solution
per gallon it's more economical.
Here's why it's better ... /
Unlike other leading carpet cleaners which
have 1 or 2 or 3 spray jets, STEAMEX has no
fewer than six heavy-duty forged brass spray
jets that blast dirt loose for fast professional
cleaning. One of the leading carpet cleaners
maintains that its unit will clean approximately
135 sq. ft. per hour. The STEAMEX cleans
approximately 400 sq. ft. per hour - three
times as fast. Furthermore, other cleaners
have 3 and 5 gallon supply tanks. The
STEAMEX has a big 7 gallon tank so you
change the water less and save time and ef-
fort. And here's something very important:
with the STEAMEX unit, you only have to add
1 ounce of Steamex solution per gallon. One
of the other leading carpet cleaners advises
you to use two ounces of their solution. It all
adds up. STEAMEX cleans more efficiently in
less time, and because it uses less solution
per gallon it keeps your costs down.

Fire — should it break out in your home — may spread more
quickly if the panels in your home have a high flame spread rating.
Furthermore, if your project requires a building permit your local
building inspector may require you to remove any prefinished
panelling that does not have an acceptable flame spread rating.
What is a flame spead rated panel? The flame spread rating of a
prefinished panel is an index, indicating the extent of spread of
flame on the surface of the panel as determined in a fire test con-
ducted in accordance with the provisions of the Ontario Building
Code.
Section 9.10.17.1. of the Ontario Building Code provides that a
flame spread rating of 150 is acceptable for the exposed surface
of interior walls and ceilings. So look for the rating stamp on the
back of the panels you buy — and choose from those rated at 150
or less such as the five mentioned above.
Please note: the names we give to all our panels are simply intended to con-
vey to the reader the color and appearance of the panelling. Most are either
prints or paper overlays.

Radars meet
Bert Gibbings and John
Deeves will be attending the
next meeting of the Clinton
Architectural Conservation
Advisory Committee
CACAC).
The two men were chosen
as delegates when the Golden
Radars Senior Citizens Club
met on April 12 in the town
hall. The CACAC is the group
studying the proposal of
restoring the town hall.
President Mary Grigg was
in charge of the meeting when
the 48 members and five
visitors met. One visitor was
Mrs. Van Damme's sister
from England.
The seniors were glad to
see Mrs. Grigg back after her
illness, but were sorry to hear
that vice-president George
Rumball is now in hospital in
Toronto, having treatment on
his knees.
After the secretary's and
treasurer's reports were
. given, Alice Lawson reported
for cards and flowers. She
noted that a carnation had
been sent to Norman Ball and
Vera Gibbings who are in the
hospital; a 50th wedding
anniversary card to Ernie
and Mary Dale; and also a
sympathy card following the
death of Ernie's brother.
Thank -you notes were read
from Mrs. Gibings and the
Dales.
After some discussion, it
was decided by vote that the
itinerary of the bus trip will
be to the African Lion Safari
at Rockton with dinner on the
return trip. Each passenger
will pay $2 on his bus fare and
any other expenses during the
day. The committee in charge
of the trip are Jean McEwan,
Hazel Parker, George
Rumball, Wat Webster and
John Deeves.
The entertainment com-
mittee for the next meeting
will be Gordon Scribbins,
Margaret Thorndyke,
Margaret •Fremlin and
Beatrice Young.
Mary Trick took charge of
the entertainment and Wat
Webster played some nice
old-time tunes on his mouth
organ, accompanied by Ruby
at the piano. Mrs. Van
Damme sang two lovely solos
accompanied by Lorna
Radford on the piano. Ruth
Taylor gave a humorous
reading ,and Elmer Trick
played two piano pieces in his
own innovative style.
Progressive euchre and 500
were played and the euchre
prize winners were— men's
high, Percy Gibbings: men's
low, Wat Webster: ladies'
high, Mary Grigg: ladies'
low, Brownie Van Damme:
lone hands, Hazel Parker.
The high scorer with 500 was
Bert Rowden and Mary Dale
had the low score.
All then enjoyed a bountiful
lunch by the committee,
Elmer and Mary Trick. Ruth
Taylor and Agnes Carbert.
ALPHA group
tours arena
Ralph and Pat Watson
recently gave members of
ALPHA Huron a tour of
Brussels' new arena.
Members were particularly
interested in the building's
complete accessibility to the
handicapped. An elevator
makes it possible for
wheelchair users to reach the
second floor, Here activities
on the ice can be viewed in
comfort. Washrooms at both
levels are usable by the
handicapped.
Congratulations to the
people of the Brussels' area,
who planned and built this
community centre.
At their meeting held in the
upper auditorium of Brussels'
arena. ALPHA Huron
members planned a survey of
accommodation in Huron
County suitable for han-
dicapped persons. An ad-
vertise.ment in local papers
will alert the public to the
survey -
A donation was made by the
group to the Crippled
Children.
ALPHA met on Tuesday
night at Holmesville Public
School. All the meetings are
at 8 pm and everyone is
welcome.
