Congratulations to the winners and good luck in future competition. Comrade Harold Black reported that the bowling team, representing our Legion, took part in the Zone Tournament in Goderich and did not fare too well. The only two members bowling well were the "Black Boys", and the rest according to Comrade Harold did "zilch". Better luck next year comrades. On Monday, March 27 another milestone in the history of the Legion will be marked when during the monthly general meeting, 46 members will be presented with the 30 year membership pins. Don't forget this im- portant meeting night, not only will you witness this rare occasion but to fill the nomination meeting. Monster bingo Chairman comrade Percy Brown held his organizational meeting in the ladies lounge last Wed- nesday, and all service clubs were represented. We'll need lots of help comrades, so keep Monday evening in mind during the months of June, July and August. The funds raised from these bingos will go towards two major projects in our town, the swimming pool and the arena floor. The public speaking contest held in our auditorium last week had 26 contestants participating to a packed hall. Our thanks to comrade Garnet Harland for a professional job of organizing this function. Our congratulations and a wish for continued success to the winners, and to all those who took part our thanks to you for the 'expertise of your presentations. Don't forget our April social, so check your Calendar of Activities and your monthly Bulletin for further information; contact Comrade Harvey. We are reminded that June ,25th is Decoration Day, along way off, but let's keep this date in mind as this day is one of the days of the year that we remember our departed Comrades. Kinsmen plan canoe race The second annual canoe race down the Maitland River has been set for Sunday April 23, the Kinsmen club of Clinton learned at their recent meeting. The race, sponsored by the Kinsmen, runs from Auburn to the Holmesville bridge, and last year, raised about $1,000 for Cystic Fibrosis. In other business, the Kinsmen agreed to sponsor a tractor pull on the Friday night of the Spring Fair, and gave a $200 donation to the Minor Soccer Association. The club also agreed to give $25 to the Easter Seal fund. Las Vegas night chairman Arnold Riley expressed gratitude to the other club members and area people who made their night a big success, realizing $1,248 for the grandstand fund. The Kinsmen are also having a Stanley Club draw this year, with $700 in prizes. 'Tickets are on sale from any Kinsmen, and from several outlets in town.
