Mrs. Barb Hicks, reporting on the booth, displayed a beautiful doll cradle which will be raffled at the fair. The cradle was donated by the Golden Radar Senior Citizen Club. Plans for two additional raffles include an afghan which Mrs. Margaret Gerrits has offered to knit and an oil painting donated by Mrs. Eileen Staddon. The auxiliary appreciate the generosity of the mem- bers of the Golden Radars and to Mrs. Gerrits and Mrs. Staddon in aiding fund raising efforts. Active members of the auxiliary, Mrs. Bess Fingland, Mrs. Mamie Walden and Mrs. Evelyn Olde .Easter Seal underway The goal for this year's Easter Seal campaign in Clinton has been set at $1,350. When compared with the total raised in 1950 - $1,174 - this amount does not seem too high. But then again, last year the campaign raised only $1,293. Tony Van Zon of the Clinton Lions club, this year's campaign chairman, said last year the goal was not met. Last year's goal was also $1,350 but the campaign missed the mark by $57. So this year the goal has again been set at $1,350. In 1950, said Mr. Van Zon, the Easter seal campaign brought in $1,174 and in 1952 $1,111 was raised. Compared to last year's total of $1,293 there has not been a great increase in the past 18 years. • Mr. Van Zon is taking the place of last year's campaign chairman who passed away leaving the post for a newcomer. Although Mr. Van Zon said he is rather disorganized with the new position, he has sent out the seals with about 2,000 publicity letters to residents in Clinton, Brucefield and the surrounding rural area. A return envelope has been sent along with each letter and he will be sending a receipt back with each donation. The campaign is a Lion's Club project every year in Clinton. Lion's Club president, John Wise, who helped with the campaign last year, said he didn't think a goal was set other years. The Easter seal campaign began in Ontario March 1 and will last until April 2.
