Mitchell ousts Colts
in playoff action
Y The Clinton Colts Inter-
fy mediate C hockey team, are
., out of the playoffs. The team
lost March 10 to Mitchell 9-2
ending the best -of -seven
series 4 games to one. The
game was held in Mitchell.
Six minutes before the end
of the game, Bud Boyes, the
only player left on the Colt
bench, called the game.
The other players were
either on the ice, in the
penalty box or had been
expelled from the game.
Referees Hugh Flynn and
Max Demaray handed out 60
minutes in penalty time to the
Clinton team.
Scoring for Clinton were
Dave MUClure, unassisted in
the second period and Bruce
Lyndon, also unassisted in the
second period.
The Colts have protested a
previous game in Clinton
when they lost 3-2. With 10
second left in the game the
Mitchell manager walked
across the ice to the penalty
box during stopped time. The
illegal action earned the team
a bench minor, but the
Clinton team later protested
they should have been
allowed a penalty shot.
Since the penalty was a
judgement call by the
referee, it cannot be changed.

Figure skaters pass final tests
In reporting the highlights
of the interclub competition
on March 5, we failed to pay
tribute to one other couple
who placed near the top.
Lorelei Robinson and Lori
Consitt skated together in the
novice dance class placing
second in their flight. Thus
they were allowed to skate in
the finals where they placed
ninth. Well done girls, sorry I
missed your good news in last
week's column.
We take pleasure in an-
nouncing two more people for
