Beta Sigma Phi answered the

figure?" at their Feb. 14th
meeting. '
Following the opening
ritual. President Lois Fit-
zgerald read a letter from Pat
Spence of Xi Epsilon Delta
Chapter, Goderich, asking
this chapter to join them in
celebrating Founder's Day.

nation. AU members ap-
proved a motion to attend_
Mari Dobson finalized
plans for the fondue held
Saturday, Feb_ 18 at the
Orange Hall_

in aid of the Huron County
Home Care Program were

presented by Lois Fitzgerald
on the life and ac-
complishments of Charles
Lindbergh_ The famous pilot
began his career as a barn-
stormer in a plane be pur-
chased
urchased for 8900. He was also
an airmail pilot at one point.
In 1927 he flew the Spirit of
Saint Louis on the first solo
flight across the Atlantic
from Long Island to Paris in
33 hours and 291, minutes_
This gained hire fame and a
substantial prize_
Lois also discussed Lind-
bergh's role in The Second
World War and the tragic
kidnapping and murder of his
two year old son.
Ann Adams won a box of
heart -shaped cookies for the
most correct answers to short
quiz_

4-H Club news
The first 4-1-1 meeting of the
Kippen II club was held qn
February 20 at the home of
the leader, Mrs.. E. J
Roberts_ She gave a warm
welcome to all the girls and
especially to the new
members_
The meeting opened with
the 4-1-1 pledge and af-
terwards Mas_ Roberts ex-
plained its meaning_
The election of officers
followed and they are:
president, Eileen Connally,
vice-president, Sandra
Finlayson: secretary,
vacant; first secretary.

reporter, Linda Roberts_
The roll call. "What does 4-
H mean to me" was answered
by 16 members and then the
assistant leader. Mrs_ S.
Wilson gave a few important
pointers on the development
of good emotional and mental
health habits_
After the meeting ad-
journed. the girls enjoyed a
delicious lunch.

musical numbers was en-
joyed by all.
