(News -Record photo) Goderich Township rec news Mr. Randy Smith, member of the Goderich recreation council was a special guest in attendance at the Feb. 15 meeting of Goderich township recreation. He brought greetings from the Goderich group and offered any assistance that may be required in the future. A prepared .sports budget was presented by the sports committee and was accepted by the whole recreation council. Alice Porter will be in charge of tickets for the next township dance at the White Carnation on March 25. An offer was received from Walter Bell who wishes to provide team sweaters for his girls' softball team, who last year won the trophy. It was decided that if any other business or person wishes to buy sweaters for other teams they should contact Art Bell immediately so that all sweater orders could be made at the same time. The colours will be green with white lettering, the township name on front and the sponsor's name on back. A lively discussion followed on how to promote the distribution and wearing of the township crests. Several recreation members took bundles of crests to distribute in the immediate locality. It is also hoped a special 1/ - hour promotion by the recreation council may be allowed at the Holmesville school some noon hour. It's important that everyone wears a crest especially this year. Our reeve Gerry Ginn is county warden and we'll all be ready to go to the plowing match! It is hoped that one of the first signs of spring in the township will be the levelling of the ground at the proposed new township athletic field in Holmesville. Watch for it; there should be some interesting developments take place this year. Hufle Happenings Poker rally On Friday, February 10th, the grade six class went on a poker rally to a nearby bush.
