Tinter events are proving popular
Judging by the outstanding
success of the Clinton
Snowmobile Club's pQker
rally Last Sunday, organizers
of two other events left over
from the now defunct Winter
Carnival are hoping the
enthusiasm keeps up.
Even though the Carnival
has folded; several different
clubs decided to keep some of
the individual events alive, at
least for this year.
This Saturday, February
11, the Kinsmen and Kinettes
will be holding their Las
Vegas night, and next
Saturday night, February 18,
the Clinton recreation
committee is reviving their
popular Hospitality night.
The Kinsmen this year
have added a crowd pleasing
twist to their Las Vegas night,
which features all the fun of
the real Las Vegas, but with
play money, as all persons
with play money either won
or left over will be able to use
it on several dozen prizes to
be auctioned or drawn for at
the end of the night.

Judge Cochrane won't sit here
Although a new judge has
been appointed for the Huron
County provincial courts, it is
unlikely that Judge William
G. Cochrane will be sitting in
Clinton court.
Instead, . Justice of the
Peace, Gordon Ferris will
continue to preside over the
Clinton courts which are held
on the first Wednesday of
each month. The court will
only hear traffic and other
small charges, while the
larger criminal charges will
be heard in Goderich

:This week at the Legion
By Rene Brochu
Last Saturday evening the
Legion held its second social
of the year. which turned out
to be a verysuccessful affair.
Entertainment Chairman
Comrade Harvey Hayter and
his committee were elated by
the turnout of members and
friends. The Hall was
decorated in the Valentine
theme and decorations were
provided by our gracious lady
Comrade Fran Porter.
Mr. and Mrs. Ken Pickett
won the door prize and as a
result, Mrs. Pickett was
crowned Valentine Queen.
The first draw prize was won
by Howard McCullough and
the second by Gladys East. A
good hot cup of coffee was
available for the patrons,
compliments of Comrade
Stan Batt.
I'm sure that our March'
social will also be well at-
tended as we seem to have hit
on the right financial
arrangement for our patrons.
Don't forget that the Legion
now makes its own hot san-
dwiches, compliments of the
bar staff. We keep them
frozen, it only takes three
minutes to get them piping
hot in our Micro -Wave. Our
compliments to the en-
tertainment chairman and
