By Blanche Deeves
• A combined Service of
Lessons, Carols and Holy
Communion was held at St.
James when Len Mills lit the
advent with the Rector
blessing the Creche. Lesson
one was read by the Server,
Len Mills; Lesson two by a
layman, James Storey;
Lesson three by a member of
the ACW, Lois Wise; Lesson 4
by Blanche Deeves, member
of the ACW; Lesson five read
by Audrey Middleton of the
ACW, Lesson six read by a
Warden, Ray Wise.
The Christmas Gospel was
read by the Rector with the
singing of Carols between
lessons. Holy Communion
was observed by the Rector.
Flowers on the altar were
given in memory of Mr. Fred
Middleton, by his wife and
family.
From the Rector and his
two wardens Ray Wise and
Don Middleton, we send our
best wishes to all for the
Season. We express our
thanks to all who have taken
part in the Parish work and
our obligations to the Diocese
during 1977.
. The offering was received
by Keith Miller and Ray
Wise. Rev. Wm. Bennett was
in charge of the service with
Len Mills assisting from

Personals
With Christmas Day over
and time on their hands, four
of our local boys left on
Boxing Day for Florida - Don
Wise, Paul Middletoti, Gerald
Riley„ and Ken Hessellwood
motored non-stop in Don
Wises . car. They figured two
days would be enough time to
take in the sun. They will
return, God willing, by New
Years Eve. We hope they
have a safe and happy trip.
There was a full house at
the Middletons with all the
children home as well as
some extra friends, along
with Mrs.- Fred Middleton,
Mrs. Jervis, Kelvin and his
friend - a very happy day .at
the Middletons.
Donna Marche of Shilo
Manitoba is spending several
days at the Deeves along with
Len Mills. On Boxing Day, Ed
and Blanche, Donna and Len
motored to Chatham to be
wit:~h• . the- Coopers - for a
Christmas dinner. ,
I would like to say thanks to
everyone who Las helped me
get this news column together
and thanks to all who I have
met and told me how much
they enjoy reading ' ,the
