The Kincardine News reported that Kincardine Township has offered to pay part of the costs. The price set by the township councillors was $20,000. Stipulations placed on the grant said that half of the money would go to recreation and the other half towards the operating deficit of the community centre. The township also noted that the money would not be given if the town puts a surcharge on the use of the recreation facilities for the township people. For the second year in a row, Hugh McCaughey, 75, of Wallace Township bas spent an unhappy Christmas. The Listowel Banner reported that for the second year, just before Christmas dogs raided Mr. McCaughey's rabbitry and killed some 35 to 40 rabbits. Only one of the animals was partially eaten and the rest of. the rabbits were strewn about.,., their cage. The PtJC felt that the bent and broken markers were the work of good-sized people since they are quite sturdy. They also noted that the destruction of the markers is a criminal offence and subject to charges under the criminal code. Bruce County has had a day care service for the past month.
