Thanks. 619-' zire."-Yer By Rene Brochu Christmas festive activities continued in the Legion as last Wednesday everting, the Legion played host to the senior citizens. The evening commenced with a delicious Christmas dinner of turkey and all the trimmings served by our Ladies' Auxiliary. The dinner was followed by a period of musical entertainment and a sing song, where the Senior Citizens showed their vocal talents have not deteriorated as their voices blended in the singing of Christmas carols. The delightful evening ended in 26 tables of Euchre. Thank you folks for letting us play host to your Christmas festive gathering. Saturday evening was the occasion of our annual Christmas draw as about 170 persons gathered in the auditorium for this occasion. The evening was mainly taken up by draw time as over 100 prizes were assembled on the prize table. Between draws, we were entertained by our own local talent in the persons of Harold and Gary Black, Lloyd Butler, Terry Hollin- shead, Helen •Bisback, Millie Hanley, and Barry Stevens. Percy Brown was busy as he arranged for members and wives present to take a stint as bartenders and cashier. The service was com- mendable, perhaps we've recruited more talent for our upper bar operation. Ways and means chairman comrade Ivan Hoggart conducted .the draw, ably assisted by comrades Frank Pyke, Slim Lacroix, and Dick McKay. During the course of the evening, the Ladies Auxiliary president, comrade Gladys Chambers, presented to the Legion president, comrade John Deeves, a micro wave oven as a Christmas present to the members of the Legion. May I take this opportunity to wish all members a Christmas devoted to Christ and his teachings and a hope for continued prosperity and devotion in your private lives and the life of the Legion. May we pause and reflect awhile on our fallen comrades. Let us hope and pray for the unity of our beloved country.
